The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Yes, I have decided to get velcro Majoros and Cheerleader ones for my BDUs (cheerleader uniform). I will get a normal Majoros one for my Class Cs.

The internet doesn't help much. You can read all of this and get confused:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uniforms_o ... rine_Corps

But here's a better break down:

Service Uniform ("greens")
Service Alpha: Green pants, and green coat
Service Bravo: Green pants, long-sleeve khaki shirt (w/tie)
Service Charlie: Green pants, short-sleeve khaki shirt (no tie)

Dress Blue Uniform ("blues")
Dress Blue Alpha: blue pants, and black coat w/medals (restricted use)
Dress Blue Bravo: blue pants, and black coat w/ribbons & badges
Dress Blue Charlie: blue pants, long-sleeve khaki shirt (w/tie)
Dress Blue Delta: blue pants, short-sleeve khaki shirt (no tie)

Ok, I need advice from everyone.

The USMC Class C women's dress has a blue skirt, while the men's has the green pants that everyone else has worn. Should I change my skirt from the blue one I had made to a green one like the men's pants? Or should I leave it blue??

You wore what is known as Blue Dress D (white hat, khaki short sleeved blouse, blue skirt). Everyone else wears Service C (green hat/garrison cap, khaki short sleeved shirt, green trousers/skirt).

It's up to you but I kinda liked the idea of you wearing a version of Blue Dress, especially if you're going to be up front with the Color Guard again.

Actually what I have is an officer class C vs. enlisted. I just couldn't track down the tie in time. The hats are different between the two as well. I couldn't find the women's enlisted hat so I went this way.

Gah! Why does this have to be so hard? I think I may stick with the blues and track down the correct shirt since I can only find a tailored men's one to fit me.

If you change your skirt from Blues to Greens, you have to change your cover too!

These prices are nutz, but are these what you're looking for?

I might be able to pick up female items on my next gear run.

I'm confused as to what you're asking then. There is no Class C uniform in the Marines. Their uniforms are either Blue Dress or Service.

You don't need a tie for the Service C. And I'm not entirely sure why you want to change your shirt unless you intend to get a white one and do the full Blue Dress but then you'd need get a blue jacket as well.

As for finding things, always try eBay. The only reason I'm not buying my Blue Dress from there is that shipping now costs more than the actual items.

As I said before, I think you look great in what you've got and there's really no need to change it. Just get one of Dom's awesome hat badges and you're good to go.

We're talking Dress Blue Deltas or Service Charlies here. Both are the only short-sleeve uniform for both.
Don't wear a tie with a short sleeved shirt.

Hey try the 70s-80s Navy for complication... (Dress Blues, Undress Whites, Dungarees, Deck Uniform, Flight Deck Uniform, Coveralls, etc etc etc :P )

At least Marine uniforms haven't changed too drastically in the last 90 or so years.

I'll gladly offer my services up to help out with any US Marine items for costuming as well. Thankfully Uncle Sam has seen fit to keep me living on-base for the last 7 years, the MCX is only a short hop away.

Should be your ship's patch, Sulaco or otherwise.
