It's 5 in the morning. The arm's been finished since last evening. We're still working on the vest. We've been cutting steel angle brackets for hours - very slow going with a Dremel - and my friend Tony and I just filmed a short video clip of ourselves at Wal-Mart on a run for more cut-off wheels.
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is playing on the tv, and I am losing my mind.
Skycraft salvage opens up again in just shy of 3 hours, at which point we'll be heading over there to pick up some different extension springs (the ones I picked up are too long) and a couple other minor knick-knacks we need to tie up the loose ends. If all goes as planned we'll be getting on the road for Atlanta around noon tomorrow.
Current status:
Arm - needs spring covers screwed down and smaller springs, otherwise ready for paint.
Gun - ready for paint touch-up
Headset - needs eyepiece hollowed out (too heavy for the swivel joint) and then ready for paint touch-up. I even got a curly-cord fixed up!
Vest - needs assembly... mostly just bolting pieces together and attaching straps and pads. The only "complicated" part is fixing up a way to attach the shoulder lamp.
Time for more caffeine.
