I want to hear stories! What's this I heard about Lance Henrikson eating dinner with some of you?
That was down to me.
Will post about it in an hour or so, as am about to eat and I'm trying to get back to some sort of normality health/eating-wise after D*C nearly killed me, so don't wanna break my routine.
Edit: Right, dinner eaten, so here goes.
Expecting us to be all together in one huge group I printed off an invite to Lance before I travelled and presented it to him on the Friday morning,
not expecting for one minute that he'd accept/attend.
http://www.medwaypvb.pwp.blueyonder.co. ... Invite.pdfI didn't make a big show/post about it beforehand, in case people expected him to be there and then were disappointed when he didn't turn up.
When our advance party got to the Hard Rock and we found out the booking had gone tits up, I panicked a bit, imagining Lance getting there and finding out that he'd have to wait hours to sit down.
Joseph Maddrey (co-author of Lance's book) then turned up on his own and explained that Lance was running a little late, as his daughter was in town (with her boyfriend) and he hadn't seen her for ages. He said Lance would be bringing her along shortly.
I quickly spoke to the booking clerk and reserved a table for five, being told that the wait from then would be about an hour, which worked fine.
When Lance turned up there were two extra yound ladies with his party. Apparently they were just fans, had heard Lance say he was dining at the Hard Rock, told him that's where they were going, to Lance invited them too.
So we ended up a party of seven and Lance paid for the whole meal.
I specifically didn't take any pics at the table, as I felt it would be rude, with Lance being 'off duty'.
I think Padsbrat has got a pic of Lance at the table with me, so hope he'll post soon.

Some peeps didn't seem very happy that I 'kept Lance to myself' and I apologise if anyone feels that way, but if the dinner had gone as planned, Lance would have been sitting as part of our whole group, so felt that I should rescue the situation somewhat and was fully intending to pay for the meal for 3/5/7 of us.
I didn't feel it would be right to parade Lance around from table to table, just for people to see/meet him, when they could do that at the con.
