The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

It was great seeing everyone... except the Brits, who always seemed to NOT be where I was. :)
I'm not going to single anyone out in particular, but as always, everyone of you I was able to talk to
was a real treat.

Sadly, I wasn't able to spend as much time with my peeps as I'd liked due to a myriad of commitments
(including Sunday from 3pm until like 5 AM!), but the time I did spend I enjoyed immensely.

Here's hoping it happens again in the future!

I'd also like to thank Tony and EVERYONE who donated time at the fan club table.
It was greatly appreciated!

Russ

Indeed. I've done my best to spread the cult of Batman these last few weeks.

The original idea came to me from a buddy of mine who would periodically post "I'm Batman" as his fb status. When I asked him about it, he said that whenever he would be intimate with his gf and she would adopt a position where she couldn't see his face, he would "Batman" her and post it on fb.

That was down to me.

Will post about it in an hour or so, as am about to eat and I'm trying to get back to some sort of normality health/eating-wise after D*C nearly killed me, so don't wanna break my routine.

Edit: Right, dinner eaten, so here goes. :)

Expecting us to be all together in one huge group I printed off an invite to Lance before I travelled and presented it to him on the Friday morning, not expecting for one minute that he'd accept/attend.

http://www.medwaypvb.pwp.blueyonder.co. ... Invite.pdf

I didn't make a big show/post about it beforehand, in case people expected him to be there and then were disappointed when he didn't turn up.

When our advance party got to the Hard Rock and we found out the booking had gone tits up, I panicked a bit, imagining Lance getting there and finding out that he'd have to wait hours to sit down. :|

Joseph Maddrey (co-author of Lance's book) then turned up on his own and explained that Lance was running a little late, as his daughter was in town (with her boyfriend) and he hadn't seen her for ages. He said Lance would be bringing her along shortly.

I quickly spoke to the booking clerk and reserved a table for five, being told that the wait from then would be about an hour, which worked fine.

When Lance turned up there were two extra yound ladies with his party. Apparently they were just fans, had heard Lance say he was dining at the Hard Rock, told him that's where they were going, to Lance invited them too. :)

So we ended up a party of seven and Lance paid for the whole meal. :D

I specifically didn't take any pics at the table, as I felt it would be rude, with Lance being 'off duty'.
I think Padsbrat has got a pic of Lance at the table with me, so hope he'll post soon. :)

Some peeps didn't seem very happy that I 'kept Lance to myself' and I apologise if anyone feels that way, but if the dinner had gone as planned, Lance would have been sitting as part of our whole group, so felt that I should rescue the situation somewhat and was fully intending to pay for the meal for 3/5/7 of us.
I didn't feel it would be right to parade Lance around from table to table, just for people to see/meet him, when they could do that at the con.

Nice thinking on your feet there Steve, nice one!!
Would have been nice to all sit together...but I doubt Lance would pay all our ways....or would he? Hmmm....anyway...

We had a blast at our table and of course we all got together to present the award so it all went well.
Trouble with our group, it just keeps growing!!

Pot luck on Marriott #10 next year lads?

Nice one Steve, it would have been great for Lance to be at the dinner with everyone and it's good to hear that he was willing to do so and a shame it didn't happen but I'm sure everyone is happy that you got to eat with him bud, good on ya :)

Glad to hear everyone had a great time as usual though. Wish I could have been there, maybe next year.

Cheers

Darren

No complaints here, man. From the moment it became clear we couldn't all sit together, there was no way Lance could be 'shared' among all of us. Considering you were the one with the initiative to invite him, anyone complaining that you were the one sitting with him is a git.

Again, I apologize we weren't seated together. No amount of waiting could have fixed this due to the two special events happening at the same time.

For the record, I attach no blame to the separate seating situation either, Dom. :)

We discovered that the Sway restaurant in the Hyatt has a large party room off to one end it was completely empty and dark both Saturday night and Sunday night.

That might be a wise choice, seeing how we will never be able to sit at the Hard Rock, or anywhere else, unless we reserve a large room. And after Max Lager's, I don't think anyone wants to be on the hook for it-

Same as Chryse, I had a prior costume shoot that prevented me from attending.

I'd like to request we have the dinner earlier, like we did last year at 5:30. That gave everyone ample time to eat and return to the floor for any big costume shoots. Otherwise, having dinner plans at 8:00, we don't get back onto the floor until 10:30-11 at the earliest.

Just my .02

Agreed. A more 'private' dinner would be best. Even though its a bit pricey, its worth it. Easier to invite celebs too.

Hyatt opens reservations, lets book the Sway and give her a whirl.

We'll be right there at the con as well so we can make as much racket as we want :)
