The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Nothing at D*Con should be done *that* early. The Parade is evil.

Had to chime in.
Last year, for Lance & Carrie's board, If I recall, I did the recce with Dom or Tony (can't remember) and we "herded" everyone who was at the fan table to the event. Unfortunately, some people were showering/changing costumes, drinking, etc & we missed them. I stayed behind & picked up stragglers therefore I got a crappy seat, but that's OK. Sorry if you missed the board but yes, that was the first time we had that kind of event for Aliens. With Cynthia two years before, she came right to our fan table on the Sunday afternoon after we hoarded her countless times at her table for the walk of fame.

Thanks but that was taken at the walk of fame. I was very lucky to get that. Dom takes awesome pix! Maybe you can get an avatar with Hicks & yourself in it. That would be cool!

I just wanted to say I've been jealously reading every Dcon thread. All the people who are going are lucky bastards & I kick my self in the ass countless times for deciding to not go. I looked at getting last minute airline tickets but at over $1,000+ and for arriving & leaving at crappy times, decided to stick to my initial decision & not go. There is always next year. Good luck Marines & bugs and stay frosty!

Mike

Thanks for the compliment... that's why PAFO pays me the big bucks.

The troops will be waiting for you... in my possible absence in 2010, we'll need at least one wacky Canadian (Kevin & Scott are the obvious straight guys)

Actually I usually have that problem at the convention...

When I have to pack up to leave- the damn stuff never fits the way it did before I left the house.

I managed to get packed up, same suitcase as last year and a green duffel bag that's slightly overflowing and I have to carry the main body part of the armour. Gonna do a test walk to see if I can travel with them from the drop-off at one hotel to arrival at the other, should be fun :P

hey guys I intro'ed myself about a couple of months ago and other than buy armor and parts and going nuts trying to get my gear together I've been pretty quiet. On that note I've managed to get a workable set together to bring to DCon and I'd like to hang out for a bit you guys. I have 501st duties being squad leader which keeps me in TK armor for the parade but after that I am going USCM and I thought I come around.

I just wanted to say hello before I just show up so people might put a face to the newbie...

Image

Really looking forward to all of it... if I had my PR ready I'd ask to participate in the sweep, but while I really know how to behave like a TK I am green as they come for CM, I think I am going to take pictures instead! Looking forward to seeing you all at DCon.

Sam

Nice facehugger you have there. :D

You could always borrow a PR, flame unit or VP70 for the sweep.

Looking forward to meeting you Sam!

I wanted to start a separate thread- but I figured here would be fine (provided it gets enough views  )...

Who here will it be their first D-Con? I know it's Doc and Cooter's first- who else?

And although it might not be your first DC- there are new members who will be with our group for the first time.

Just want to know who to look out for in particular to say hi. 8)

I already know all you other MFs. :P

I'm just here to say hi as well as greet a fellow Jayne Cobb fan ;)

Do you dress as him as well and are you going to the Shindig Saturday night? Here's a pic from last year's event with me wearing 'the hat'.

Sam, welcome to the Corps! We'd love to have you in the Colony Sweep, we have some weapons that are being loaned. (I forget the thread...) Tarim-Rex is taking care of it.

The Sweep is fun to watch, but it's Priceless to be in it!!
