The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Why are people so caught up on the Hyatt bar when there is a liquor/beer store not far away from the hotels?

Because drinking at a bar, with good conversation between friends, is much better than sitting alone in a hotel room with a six pack of Bud.

This is true, but the Hyatt bar is the epitome of Chaos. I usually find myself sitting outside in the cool night air watching costumed weirdos and sipping beer while being snarky.

Gainesville Florida is further south and much hotter. Atlanta is actually cooler in the evening. It's not "great" weather but still cooler than it was during parade time. Plus if you get a good spot, ah night breezes.

Yeah, but you can do like I do...bring the beer you bought at the store down to the bar...theres nothing illegal about it as long as you dont sell it to anyone while in the bar...I used to bring a cooler slam packed with beer...and me and my pals would drink it all night..the cops nor Hyatt personnel could do anything about it..they told me it was perfectly fine.

Not being a heavy drinker I'm not fussed, but Cherie buys the alcohol here in OKC and has it in the room. Fills up a big gulp (large soda cup with lid and straw) and off she goes around the hotel for a few hours.

You can't miss her.......no really....you can't!!

LOL. Dom and Kevin tend to be pretty sober too. And despite my online party persona, I'm actually quite a teatotaller.

Tea?? Did I hear someone say Tea?

Is it Mikes Hard Tea??? LOL

Maybe I'm in the wrong place (living) because the Seattle area is big on coffee and micro brews (beer/ale). Nether of which I care for.

I've been sober for 10 years- two drinks a year at max now.

I don't drink at D-Con... ever.

Beat that.

Dude- in all seriousness possible...

Good on you Bro!

The reason I no longer drink... is that I used to drink too much. I didn't drink at all until I was 23- then I started partying all the time. Used to get absolutely plastered with my buddies every weekend. Falling down drunk... puking my guts out... passing out... waking up still drunk... not knowing where I was... promising myself everytime not to do it again, just to repeat it all the next week... done it all.

Finally had one too many hangovers and quit cold turkey on my own in 1998.

I've always said that you only have so many drinks in your lifetime... and I drank them all already.

Sometimes at D-Con I feel like cutting loose and getting tipsy- but with me one drink will turn into 20... those days are long gone for me. 8)

I'm with you Sarge.
I don't drink heavily anymore....in fact the only time I do drink is if the ale looks good or its Guinness (that's only due to my real ale experience).

We all have a good time though regardless :)

I rarely drink too since alcohol sets my gout off like a lit match to fire, plus alcoholism runs in my family. Until it's proven not to be hereditary, I won't even risk it.
