The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

That'll last about 20mins if you're lucky.

Well I guess I should post mine then eh? 8)

Obviously my PIG Gunner.

CM Dress Blues (yes they will be 100% done for DC).

That will pretty much be for Friday morning to early evening, and Saturday morning to evening.

Sunday morning I usually put on my Wrath of Khan uniform. Probably will put the PIG on mid afternoon, take it off for something else- and close out the convention late Sunday night with the PIG again.

Evening costumes are a bit of a toss up.

Unless I decide at the last minute that I don't feel like changing too many times- I'll probably bring my Grayson suit again.

As much as I was gung ho about my T1 Reese impression- I've nearly lost all interest in it. I might just save it for the local cons (I never did get around to putting the padding on the jacket). Truth is I spent waaaay too much cash on that project which I now feel could have gone toward something else. :( :?

Honestly at this point I might do a 180 and sell some of the stuff (like the headset) to recover some costs.

Anyway- I have one more simple costume up my sleeveless arm that I will unveil at Polaris... Depending on what the reception on it is like- I'll bring it to D-Con. It's about 80% done. A few of you already know what I'm working on.

Too true!

I remember Friday night wanting to meet up with Rex while he had his batsuit on- took me nearly an hour to get up to my room, put on my Grayson suit, and get back down to the Marriott lobby.

Mind you this was partly due to my own stupidity of getting to the ground floor of the Hilton and remembering I had forgotten my D-Con badge in my room!

Brought 6 last year, this year will be less for sure.

Updated List:

Spartan - (300, not Halo)
USCM
BSG BDUs
Croc Master
Surprise Drinking Costume

Casualties (not coming for one reason or another):
Boba Fett

The wife is coming with me this year as well and has 3 or 4 costumes to bring. And like TC said, I'd like to enjoy it more this year than running back to the room for costumes. Thank God we're in the Marriott.

Nahhhh, I ain't doing 4 costumes a day bros, I was just joshin'!

Last year it wasn't bad switching between Morning and Afternoon.

After dinner, head back to the room and put on another...no worries.

But, what hinges on just how many I bring is shipping / packing them all over. I've two crates full last year, that was mainly because they were bulky outfits.

This year I'm trying to get parts to do double duty w/ other costumes. My helmet will probably stay home just due to bulk.

Last year my shoulder lamp had issues staying attached, don't know if I'll bring it. I may or may not bring the motion tracker.

I paid alot in oversize shipping charges on the way out, so I'm trying to reduce overall "stuff". One armored bad ass outfit. 2, mebbe 3 blasters, no more.

It's a hard decision whether to bring my SST gear. I mean, I paid $$ for it, but it takes up soooo much space in the container. Can't fit my proton pack...so it stays home. My BSG Viper Pilot is bitchin' and it folds up much more compact.

Working on my Warriors of the Wasteland so it'll look "period", but it won't have the overall bulky armor look.

I've several "light duty" outfits that could be pressed into service- BSG bdu's, Deathstar Construction Supervisor, etc.

Lots and lots of choices.

It'll all pare down in the months to come. As I do trial packing in the cases, see what'll make it, and what won't.

My Gotham SWAT turned out pretty cool, but don't know if it'll actually make it or not.

Taking a 30-45 min break to head back to the room and change doesn't bother me. Heck, we'll probably have booze there, so it's just another chance to recharge! :D

I figure 4-5 hours in one costume is good, then switch to another. Less stinkage that way too...

Is there a chance of missin' something? Yep, sure is! But, there's times where headed to and from the room, you run into cool experiences too... 8)

That's a good point worth mentioning, hehe. I had a lot of interesting conversations with plainclothes con-goers about my costume and other things, just walking from one point of interest to the other :) One thing you have to love about the USCM look... it's one of those things almost everyone recognizes, and it definitely gets noticed!

True, almost everyone. We B/3-7 Marines made our first official drop this weekend at the Farpoint convention in Hunt Valley, MD. We were on our way to secure the dealer's room when we passed this guy who said, "hey, look, Stargate!"

Granted, he was a dweeb in a Star Trek uniform and was carrying a lightsaber at the same time, but still...

You must have been the exception- We usually get called "Starship Troopers", "GI Joe", or just "Army guys".

Couple of years back I posted on another board that I was bringing my Colonial Marine gear to D-Con. Someone replied-

Colonial Marine? From Battlestar Galactica?

As if there isn't enough things to get us confused with.

I'm thinking seriously about bringing various USCM costumes and variants this year.

1) A "nicer" set of BDUs for the parade.

2) Combat gear for Colony Sweep (Saturday)

2) Different weapon/costume loadout of other events.

Okay, I will concede that I have a slight advantage there... the smartgun is hard to miss! I really don't see how anyone could confuse the motion trackers and pulse rifles, though. But then again, Aliens is one of my favorite movies EVAR™, so maybe it's just me?

Most definitely!

Last year was an improvement over previous years with Jennifer (squashed spider) in her bug suit. And I think after 5 years in a row we are finally making a mark on D-Con! :D

I'll be bustin' out my BSG and Aliens Colonial Marine gear, 101st Airborne paratrooper, and possibly something Firefly to lounge around in at night. Plastic body armor and tac vests aren't exactly comfy.
