This will be the first year in Addison. Last year, it was at the Sterling on Regal Row. It rained horribly that weekend (all 3 days) and the roof the the hotel was leaking in multiple places through the light fixtures, including the dealers room on merchandise. I went to the social on Jan 20th where the volunteers got to walk to new hotel. One word...pimpin'. It has a real screening room for the films (Turkish Star Wars Saturday night), very elegant by convention standards, and of course what looks to be an awesome bar area. The dealer's room is huge and will house all dealers and autograph tables. This is a smaller con but with the content they have, the events are parties (Gilmore) that will be going on, this is going to be a blast.

yup, im workin on my armor right now...upgrading, weathering...bringing it up to par for the con...so I can't wait...I know Schwartz and I will be working security for the con alot...but we will probably be wearing our USCM stuff for the majority of our stint of security

I know Creation Cons did that a few times in the past when they got wind of a fan created con (Star Trek I believe...) happening in the area, and they trumped the con with one of their own and more big name genre stars... from the same series.

So It does happen occasionally... or it could all be a huge coincidence.

Yeah, i heard Ben is pretty picky...but the price of all con, and being in a hotel like Dcon, it makes it so much easier.

OK Marines, I want to enter AND WIN this contest all-con.org/msq.html I believe we all can go on the stage as a squad of ultimate bad asses and perform a 30 second skit/scene. It would be excellent to copy some lines from the movie. I suggest we discuss some ideas here on the board. On Saturday at the con, we RV (TBC) after lunch, do a couple of quick rehearsals then "DO IT" at 7:00 pm. Our reward ....the trophy & $200 for more liquor and more importantly bragging rights and glory for the Corps. What do you say Marines...is this a big "HURRAHHH!!" or what?

Nobody had an entry like this last year. Usually everybody just walks up, does a couple turns and that's it. As long as we avoid being like the orig. Battlestar skit duo from DC06, LOL!

We could do this and be BADASS (win), especially if we had a bunch of us in it.

It looks like the wife and I will be able to make it, but not until around 6-7PM Saturday night. Debating on lodging options currently. Trying to decide if it's worth $80 to save the 45 min commute to home and back.

So what's the word on our USCM dinner, is that going to be Saturday night? The misses and I would like to get in on it, but we won't be able to make it out that way until 7 or 8, as I said before.

We'll be bringing out two sets of armor, pulse rifle, incinerator and the smartgun. Fire support is on it's way
