I'm not looking forward to next week at ALL. Next WEEKEND, sure, but not the week. Due to monetary holdups and time setbacks, and my visit to Charlotte at the beginning of this month and my reserve training this week and the week before...
*INHALE*
I get three days to assemble the (finally) finished parts of my vest before getting on the road for Atlanta, lol. The good news is, my headset is almost done - just need to permanently attach the eyepiece. No curly cord this year, but oh well. Maybe I'll find something I can use at Skycraft (my local hardware and electronics salvage store.)
I've also found a suitable battery powered amp which I'm hoping will be powerful enough to make the SG heard over the Con noise. Fingers crossed on that!
Here's what I have left to do:
GUN
- Attach fx board battery clip inside trigger box, hide wires, permanently (re)attach trigger box
- Wire up pocket-amp to vest side of cable harness, wire up speaker
- Permanently attach ammo drum cover
- Install a bolt to use as the mounting stud for the arm
VEST
- Bend waistplate and chestplate to my measurements
- Put the damn thing together
- Paint and attach chestplate
- Fabricate shoulder lamp mounting plate, mount to vest
ARM
- Fabricate gun mount (piece of aluminum square-tube with a vertical bearing at one end and a piece of steel welded over the other end, like an "L")
- Cut sheet aluminum "spring covers"
- Put the damn thing together
- Play with different spring combinations to balance the arm to the gun
And a final coat of paint over everything. Piece of cake, right?

At least I'll have help.
