I just got this from D*Con...a little closer to the date than usual but better late than never.
I'm pretty sure we know all this, but just in case...
Hey everyone,
Apparently my first e-mail didn't reach the majority of you. Probably because I ended up putting 40+ emails in one email and your spam filters caught it. So check your spam folder, or if you don't want to, here's the original mail, copied and pasted!
Dragon*Con is just around the corner. Are you prepared? I'm sending this e-mail as a quick reminder for everyone about the rules for Fan Tables during Dragon*Con.
1) First, and foremost, all fan tables must be manned between the hours of 10 am - 8 pm by an individual that matches the following criteria:
a) Must have their own Dragon*Con badge for the appropriate year
b) Must have a pulse (rifle??)
c) Because the parade is a big deal, I allow manning of the tables during the parade to be optional. Obviously, you will not be able to promote your group, but you'll be able to see the awesomeness that is the storm trooper march. Tables must be manned IMMEDIATELY after the parade. Seriously. You have enough time to use the restroom and return, then I'm pulling names.
That's it. You're welcome to ask fans of your group to man the table in the event that you find yourselves unable to man the tables as you had planned. Others have even left notepads on their table asking for people to cover for them when an emergency came up. Just so long as *someone with a badge is behind the table and representing your group, even if they know nothing about it.* If your table is found not being manned between 10am - 8 pm, your items will be placed under your table and out of sight of Dragon*Con attendees. Anything lost is not the responsibility of Dragon*Con, myself or any volunteers of Dragon*Con.
2) Each table will be given two (2) chairs. You are welcome to bring your own chairs to use if you anticipate needing more, but you are not allowed to take from other tables. In the event that another table offers you their chair, let someone from the Fan Table staff know so they can let me know. I will have a table set up for easy contact.
3) No merchandise is to be sold without your fan group's logo permanently marked onto the item. This includes asking for donations with item rewards.
3 1/2) Unfortunately, due to recent Georgia laws, Pat Henry has asked Fan Tables not to hold raffles or door prizes during the convention.
4) Electricity and internet are available at a possible (I honestly won't know until D*Con, sorry folks) additional cost, to be paid up front for the entire weekend. The hotel will install 4-socket outlets for you to tap into in most cases, but can only be tapped into by one table. It might be tempting to split the cost of power between more than one table and all use one power box, but I'm not the only person policing these; the hotel does as well. When they see multiple tables on one jack, they call Pat. When Pat gets called it makes trouble for me, and you know the saying of how dung rolls downhill.
I will be in Atlanta to help you claim your tables on Thursday from 6-9pm. I will be in the Sheraton and I will have other staff available to help you in the Hyatt during the same hours. Any tables not claimed by 2 pm on Friday will be passed to the standby list. You can only claim one table. If you claim your table and your sister group calls up and says they're running late, you won't be able to claim their table as well for them unless you're willing to give up yours.
If you have any other questions, feel free to e-mail me at any time leading up to the convention. During the convention, I will have a Fan Table table set up and manned with my staff for you to utilize to get in contact with me. Their hours will be the same as yours, 10a - 8p
Thanks and see you at the Con!

johantabor{at}gmail{dot}comNote that tables can be reserved on Thursday evening now, not Friday morning.
I suggest the first one to arrive grabs one.....because they go quick.
Everything else appears to be the same as last year.
I added his e-mail address because I've been dropping the ball recently with a lot of online stuff so I don't want anyone waiting on me for anything
