 I just ordered $240 worth of Under Armour Tactical clothes and had it sent to USCM Grunt! 2-3 business days guaranteed shipping Harry, so if you're nice maybe Derek can help you. :)

Not much of a pic, but those tight sleeves you see is an OD HeatGear® Tactical Full T. Sorry, no Brown Bess.

Same model shirt, but in black:

Does it make a difference? YES! This magical cloth of elven kind actually makes sweat COOL YOU DOWN!

I wear UA when I play hockey and love it. It pulls the sweat away from my skin. I will have a UA tee for the parade to go under my vest. That and the mole bladder with bite hose and I am set. Bringing a couple boxes of Snickers Marathon bars in different flavors to make sure I do not fall on my face in the middle of having a good time.

Thanks!

Greg

There are a few UK places that sell the Under Armour gear, such as this place:

I agree, Under Armor is the way to go! I wear it, or a Wallymart clone version of it every day at work! 8)

Nice score on the green one Dom!

Now we just wait and see if they get here in time.

The only issue I have with sweating is the BDUs getting soggy. Not that fussed with me being wet, but will try this gear to see how I feel. :)

I was hyped about this kit until I realised that my costume left nowhere for the moisture to wick to or for air to get to the undershirt. I have a feeling it would just further insulate me compared with not wearing anything? ;)

Yeah I would have thought wearing this under BDUs under plastic armour would render it useless, for a bug costume doubly so..

That's what I was thinking initially, but it's worth giving it a try if nothing else.

Like Gareth said in his bug costume there's definitely nowhere for the sweat to evaporate (eww!), at least with armour & BDU there's a small chance that it'll let some moisture evaporate at the neck and arms.

Abe should come out to play in shifts. Don't expect to be killing us all day long! We also hang around the table alot and take our helmets off to relax & cool down...unless someone yells out, "Group Picture" then we quickly get our kit together & show our war face for 10 mins while 100 people take our pic. Sometimes we go "patrolling" with our "Hottie Trackers" ~Trackers Online~ looking for victory shots with juicy colonist daughters we have to rescue from their virginity.

Back on topic Mike!

Oh yeah, I have O.D. cool max t-shirts I wear under my shirt. There are iced water dispensers with plastic cups all around the 3 hotels. Some even have sliced lemons and oranges. Pack a water bottle with you in you pockets/webbing as a backup. Abe, have your favourite cup with long straw and we'll look after you. Relax, have fun and drink lots of water and you'll be O.K.

Mike

Some of the most fun I remember having last year was just walking around in character with one or two other Marines. You meet some really cool people that way, who might otherwise have been too shy to come up and talk to a large group. I like to call it "walking the perimeter," hehe.

Airborne Mike's offered to show me the 'sights' of D*Con that way. :D

I just picked up two of the Under Armor shirts Dom linked to today - the base exchange had them for $20. Seems like a quality product at first glance - good material, good fit, sturdy stitching. I figure with two I'll be able to alternate wearing one and febreezing the other, lol.

Gah! I wish you'd mentioned that before I spent £25 on a T-shirt! ;)

So it doesn't work with armour/BDU at all then Rich?

LOL!

If it doesn't work under my gear I can still use it for work, one venue I do a lot of shows in gets pretty hot up where the lighting & sound control position is.

My Under Armour shirts arrived today.

I chose Large, but think that anyone else who would normally order large should go for the next size up, as it's rather tight on my short/stumpy body.

Have just shoved them in my case, so will see what they're like when geared up.

Even if they only keep some of the sweat from soaking into the BDUs it'll be worth it. :)
