The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Screen Accurate isn't 100% real life accurate anyway. Hollywood is still doing that to us.

eBay is still a good bet. Original kit is often cheaper (and far better) than the repro stuff, especially on common items like leggings!

Quoted for truth on all points!

Also, and I hate to do this since it could be misconstrued as bashing but I want you guys to avoid a bad element. There are a bunch of kids who show up to D*C often dressed as Imperial Japanese Army. They come from a unit that is known to be very unprofessional and they have a bad rap in the IJA reenacting community for other things. I'm sure they'll notice a group in WW2 dress if they happen across one.

Any more takers on this? I'm almost done with the costume. Must say it looks awesome! Can I get a roll call on who else is doing a WW2 outfit?

Looks like a blast! Great idea Tony! I started into this a few years back, but have just ended up with a 101st AB Jacket / Trousers, helmet (still need to put the correct para chin strap and add the burlap "camo". Boots no longer fit- gave away. Have a Rangers jacket that was supposedly used in Saving Private Ryan - no COA, but price was right. Story was the guy had gotten a bunch of the "extra's" jackets, but couldn't sell 'em as "actually used" so anyway the story goes...

Humm, right now I could only do a WWII Army Air Corps Bombardier officer, tans, leather jacket, chocolate brown crush cap or garrison. Would that be OK?

When and where so I can see if it fits into my Dragon*Con schedule! :)

I can portray a RAF Tomahawk (export P-40) pilot -North Africa 1942, either in flying kit or in dress tropical khaki ; suitable for an evening at the bar at Shepeard's Hotel- Cairo 1942 , if others want to do Allied aircrew impressions at DC..........

Not that I'd be available for D*C this year but figured I'd brag about the addition of Fallschirmjager to my repertoire.

My costume is finished. All the layers and the wool material are gonna make this costume HOT AS HELL! I was not trying to make this costume 'exact' to the film nor perfectly authentic to history. My phone camera is crap, so the colors are a bit off. Please save picking apart the costume when we get to con. If I got close, I'm happy with it... and I think I got pretty close.

WW2 costumes to be done FRIDAY. I'll be suiting up about noonish and be in uniform most of the day. But I'll probably change out when I go back to my room (about 7pm) to prepare for the Zombie Prom.

(not Sat, we'll be in USCM gear / uniforms most of that day after the parade and then to the AL dinner).

Then back in WW2 stuff again on SUNDAY, but changing out in the evening. I hate going to after-parties in costume.
