The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

That's the wrong belt. That's a parade belt from like WWII or something, which is worn in combination of a Utility Uniform (combat gear).

And that belt buckle is "slick", which is "Non-NCO" used for the ranks of Private, PFC, and Lance Corporal. You need to get the SNCO buckle. Or maybe we need to have a custom run of USCM belt buckles?

Check out the correct white belt and various buckles here:
http://www.usmcblues.com/belts.html

Otherwise, great work.

Only after the North American Alliance, FTL travel is discovered, and the Marine Corp is reorganized to protect colonies from bugs and beebops.

All fiction is based on some sort of reality.

Colonial Marines were a real thing, during the infantcy of the United States.

What really worries me is what those Xenomorphs are based on?!?

Aaron, I'm sure you're a good guy, and a great Marine.

However... maybe it's just me who's thinking this... or maybe everyone is way too nice to say this... but normally, I'm the one who speaks up.

You're gonna have to ease off a little bit on the "Ultra-Marine" exactitude-mode of yours. I can think of two other actual Marines on this board who don't even blow the Marine bugle as strongly as you have on this forum during your time here. You can be gung-ho on USMC accuracy, but this is a fantasy world here, based on a movie. We're here to have fun and encourage each other in our craft... not to nit-pick everything and to turn the civilian population into real-life devil dogs.

Furthermore, the look of the USCM dress blues are based on standards set here by veteran members, whose initial goal was to ensure that our Blues didn't look exactly like USMC Blues.

I've tried to drop subtle hints, I've even asked you to ease down. Now, I'm telling you... stand down. Please.

Well I think Kevin and I have tried, in a nice way, but it sadly seems to just fall on deaf ears. :(

That happened to my husband the first time he wore his Service C shirt.... and we were in the middle of London! A little old lady came over, touched his arm and said "I feel so much safer with you around".

You feel that civilians should be wearing the Eagle/Globe/Anchor of the USMC on a costume?

Really?

Aaron- you pm'ed me not too long ago about the Dress Blues uniform and I took the time to explain all the changes we made for the uniform SO IT DOESN'T EXACTLY look like a REAL USMC uniform.

That why we're wearing THE WRONG BELT, THE WRONG BUTTONS AND THE WRONG FRIKKIN' PANTS!

Aside from respecting the uniform of the United States Marine Corps (by NOT wearing any actual USMC insignia), there are also laws in the US against wearing a military uniform in public (reenactors and entertainment productions being exceptions). So we felt we had to change things on purpose to abide by the law.

I also gave you a link in that pm to the Dress Blues thread (that directly linked you to my latest post so you wouldn't have to read through 36 pages first).

Here it is again for you.

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2518&hilit=dress+blues&start=885

So I'm guessing (actually I'm hoping believe it or not) that you didn't read any of it. Because if you DID read it, we have a BIG problem here because you DON'T GET IT.

Maybe you do need to read that thread from the first page to the last!

We're not the Marine Corps here! How many times do I and now several others have to say it?

You're also not going to change anything around here. Suggestions are one thing, but flat out telling someone that something is wrong with their uniform when you don't know what you're talking about is not only rude, but makes you look like an ass!

Rex- my apologies for this.

Kevin
