The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Last time I wore my class C, I looked like a damn bratwurst ready to explode.

Image

Tried it on last night... and it fits very well and damn good on me. Amazing what 5 months of PT will do. Hopefully it will still fit by September, and by that, I mean not too small!

Let's not forget the rank chevrons on the left shoulder. Looks like your shirt is a little out-dated, Kevin.

No.

I don't think any of us "currently" have Delta pins on the collar.

(However I do remember a former cpl wearing them at one time. )

Dom- Yeah that pic was before I added the ssgt rank.

Didn't Gorman have an EGA on the hat?

He certainly did. And near as I can tell it is an older version (maybe pre WWII) made of bronze.

I mentioned the Challenge coin as Rex is most likely going to be wearing this in public and we tend to shy away from wearing real USMC insignia (especially the EGA) out of respect.

Correct. These were standards of dress that we established following an incredibly loud and noisy debate.

The other standard we set for NCOs was to have the rank chevrons on the left shoulder, the right shoulder not having enough room due to the Screaming Eagle patch. Officers should have them on their shoulders.

There's an ebay military dealer in Hawai'i that has shoes, belts, and all kinds of other good stuff. I just bought nearly everything I needed for my Class C from them for about $125, including the shoes. Got some great blousing bands too. Shoot me a PM and I'll send you a link if you're interested!

So you're going with an Army cover? I found a site that sells new USMC green Service Dress covers by special order ($110 shipped), but if an Army cap is SA, then I guess I'll have to look elsewhere... Whaddya think? If that's the way to go, I'll let you know if I find anything... our hat size is apparently the same (58cm, or roughly 7 3/16" is a perfect fit for me. 7 1/8 is sometimes tight depending on type of cap, 7 1/4 usually a tad too loose).

Looking at Kevin's pic I just realized I'll need to have the shirt collar tailored to USCM style too. I still need name tapes made up, but got the other subdued patches covered. Btw, are your gunny patches current issue or vintage?

Still trying to track down a Screamin' Eagle cap badge. If I can't find one in time then hopefully I can borrow one from somebody just for the parade... :|

Sounds good! I'm lookin' for cheapest on this outfit- :D

Looking for waaaaay cheaper than that bro! My hat size is 7 1/8 - 7 1/4, but suppose could put a piece of foamie in the hatband to "smaller-ize" it!

Yep, shirt collar's mod is a must! My gunny patches are custom Colonial Marines- they have a Pulse Rifle in 'em! :delta:

I'm thinkin' you'll track one down...

I would sort of imagine that the cover is personal preference.

Forage cap, piss cutter or campaign hat... all good. You gotta be as awesome as me for the campaign hat, however.

OK, Campaign COVER, Mr. "I Can't Read Simple Intructions".

Let's see how snappy you are with Canadian Army jargon, then.

Hey now... I can read the "simple instructions", my friend, but perhaps... just perhaps I chose to ignore them! *cackle* Yes! Yes indeed! Ha ha... HA!

As for your other part there... no comment.

Hold on, wait... don't you all have like... um... wedgie-knickers and bumsniffers? Right? Am I close?
