They started taking reservations at 8am EST (Atlanta time) and all doubles sold out in 12 mins...Im sure more will open but who knows when...I managed to get two singles and my friend got 3 or 4 doubles....

The website is slightly flakey and only lets you book one room at a time.

The days before and after D*Con are already starting to book up, and apparently, there are only 1xKing bed rooms left (but that was the case up until 1 month before D*Con 09 and I managed to get ours changed)

I just called them and they said the entire hotel is now completely sold out for all the days of Dragon Con. Seems crazy since it's only been 2 1/2 hours since they went on sale. Can anyone confirm this?

The woman on the phone thought something must be wrong with their system. But then again, she'd never heard of Dragon*Con...

EDIT: A year or so, it appears!

I called back and spoke to someone else and she said it was NOT sold out and that there was just a problem with the system. She said they were taking reservations for 20 min and then the system had a problem. She said they would start taking reservations again at 12 noon Eastern time. I called back at that time and they said it was either sold out, or they were still having a problem. I just called back now and they said it is definitely sold out.
I can't seem to get a straight answer out of these people...

Okay, I called back one more time and was told this: There was never a problem with the system. The entire hotel sold out within an hour or so of booking rooms for Dragon Con. The reason they were telling people to call back at 12 was because they were going to check with the hotel and see if more rooms could be made available to the Dragon Con group. They now have been told no, and that the entire hotel is booked, regardless of what event you'd be there for.

Assuming that last person knew what they were talking about, that's that. I guess I'll keep checking back every couple of months or so to see if they have any cancellations. I really had my heart set on staying at the Marriott.

Well I had to be at work today from 8am to 4:30pm.


So I just finished booking my room at the Hilton.



Took an hour for the Marriott sell out this year? That long?

Oh well... at least I have a host hotel room and it's not the Sheraton. Hilton isn't too bad- and the new skybridge walkway is a Godsend.

Friggin' prices certainly went up this year! The Marriott is the most expensive one now!

For the price of the Hilton it better be!! Marriott FAIL on my side as well and we are looking into the Hilton.
