The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

"A army of Clonetroopers coming after us, what shall we do Master??"

"Have no fear my young Padawan. I have here a ass kicking, Colonial Marine issue Pulse Rifle. Their armor is designed to refract laser bolts. Well, we ain't shooting no laser bolts, we're using armor piercing, 10mm caseless w/ 30 mm grenade launcher with a 40' spread. I'm going to tear holes in that shiny white armor!"

"Wow Master, where did you get such a weapon?"

Cocks one eyebrow-

"I been around...and you know what else? I got a sentry gun back here too!! Bwahahahahahahah!!"

Better not give M41a's to stormtroopers, they may actually be able to hit that barn door at 10 feet!

PRs fire a projectile round, which describes a parabolic trajectory.
Blasters, AFAIK, shoot laser bolts in a dead straight line.
Given they can't even shoot straight with a straight-shooting weapon, giving PRs to Stormies would probably be even more detrimental to their combat efficiency... though not by significant percentage enough to worry about opening any sales tenders yet.

However, if you can find me a weapon that will notably increase their friendly fire probabilities, then let me know and I'll start selling some to 'em!!

Has anyone been on their website?
http://www.jedichefs.com/ (bit out of date)

They seem ok to me and have a good sense of humour, not to mention all the Sci-Fi stars they've been pictured with. 8)

Think they're from the UK? :?

Judge me by my size do you... and well you should not... for my ally is ... my PR

I rather think that the Terminator, if he got the jump on old Anakin would mow him down, but if not, would have tons of molten metal returned to him before he knew it and would probably blow up from the inside. An interesting match

In an oddly related story, at this year's DCon I got on the elevator in my armor and was joined by a jedi. For some reason the doors took an incredibly long time to close. So I raised my hand, made a swiping motion in front of the controls and said, "Close." The doors closed immediately (dumb luck, I assure you) and the Jedi goes, "Hey, that's my job!"

I looked at the guy with a smug smile on my face and said, "The Force is strong with this one." ;)

See all the battledriods in the SW universe seem to be remote controlled if you blow the mother ship they stop working. I wonder how they would deal with something so creative thinking and independent as a terminator.. Plus not being familiar with high rate of fire weapons.

Really though, anyone with a machine gun is the match for a jedi. Probably why George made sure there were none in the whole galaxy. :)

oh wait...

From the list of "Things Mr. Welch can no longer do in an RPG:

99.Not allowed to see if Jedi can parry a shotgun blast with their lightsaber.

Thought Jedi could stop/deflect anything thrown at them, from big bits of metal, to laser blasts?

Storm troopers managed to kill all but a few in episode 3. Seems all you need is volume of fire. :)

That's awesome Kronk!!

And you're right Tarim-Rex! Pretend you are their friend, then shoot them in the back. That always bothered me, fight with them for 3 years, then turn around and shoot 'em.

In Karen Travis's book "Order 66", they go more in-depth on the relationships between the Clones and the Jedi. Some Jedi treated the Clones badly, others treated them first rate. Some of the higher level Clones- ARCs and Commandos questioned the orders to kill the Jedi. What's left out of the movie was that palpty brought in several battalions of new clones, ones that had not been raised on Kamino. Those were the main ones that killed the Jedi. Anakin's 501st was all the new batch.

The Clones would complain that the Jedi would just throw them into battle, not seemingly to care if they lived or died. Again supposedly why they had no problems whacking certain Jedi. Ki Ada Mundi for example. They did leave out why they whacked Aalya Secura, or why Cody turned on Obi-Wan, who treated him like a brother.

In the books, they Jedi are uber bad ass. "Shatterpoint" w/ Mace Windu, he was one baaad mo-fo. After reading that book, him getting hit with sith lightning, hand cut off and tossed out a window, nahhh, that wouldn't have taken him out.

As far as a machine gun taking out Jedi- shot in the back if they didn't detect the thoughts first. Otherwise, I'm thinking that the more powerful ones could easily detect and deflect the high speed projectiles and then crush or pull the weapons from the attackers.

The show only energy blasts being deflected, not projectiles, it would make for an interesting topic, wouldn't it? 8)

I'd say the Lightsabre is the immovable object to the unstoppable force of the energy blast, with deflection being the only possible outcome.
If a Jedi is good enough to block laser blasts, then he's good enough to do the same with ball rounds. However, I suspect the round would get disintegrated by the lightsabre.

My next option would be to try a high fire rate of explosive rounds so that, even if the Jedi parries them, they'd still go boom and rattle his cage. The theory is that the first few would shake his defenses into disorder, with the remaining ones blowing him to bits.

I hate the direction this thread has gone... basically because I hate Star Wars (now).

Episode III pretty much proved the Jedi aren't as "invulnerable" as the fans would like to believe. No more of this "The Jedi would use his force clairvoyance and force speed to forsee and deflect any and all types of attack. No more of that "only a ninja can stop a ninja" mentality BS.

Even the Bad MF Mace Windu "never saw it coming".

But like I said... I can't stand Star Wars now (can you tell?  ). Lucas is an ass.

If the Jedi were invulnerable in the first place, why would they need lightsabres?
Why is their skill with the Force not enough?

They were probably pretty damn good, but still susceptible to fallible things like mistakes.
