Okay if you've never watched "Near Dark" you need to do it now!
It was one of two big Vampire flicks of 1987 (the other being "The Lost Boys"). Easily the true horror film of the two (and just plain better). No campy teenage kids with sharp sticks hunting vampires in Near Dark.
So everyone who's seen this film (and perhaps even some who haven't) know that three of the stars were all in "Aliens" (Bill Paxton, Jenette Goldstein and Lance Henriksen). In fact this was the very next film they all made right after Aliens!
Last night I watched the movie again for the first time in probably 15 or 20 years! Here's a little tidbit that I had certainly forgotten about...

Check out the movie playing in the theater in the background!
I had also forgotten just how good a job Bill Paxton did in this film! Hudson may have boasted about being a badass... But Severen (Paxton's character) truly
was a badass!

A psychotic vampire who would slash people's throats with a smile, suck his own blood-soaked fingers and make the comment...
"Finger lickin' good!"
Now go watch it! Or watch it again!
Sure beats the hell out of "Twilight" for me!
