The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Just a small thing...

The other half and I were watching University Challenge last night. It's one of those 'couple' things - We each answer the questions and whoever loses has to do the washing up!!

She usually trounces me on the music rounds as she's grown up with choral and classical music, whereas I barely know the names of three composers.

So, we get to the Starter For Ten and it's a piece by James Horner. Titanic. Fairly easy.
There's then three other pieces by Horner which we have to guess.

Guess which 1986 movie won me the game?

Guessed it right within 2 seconds. It's a small thing, but it made me happy!!

I saw it too.

As soon as Jeremy Paxman announced the round I knew it would be in there somewhere

You're not going to tell us? :?

Congratulations. Nice to put something in the "win" column once in a while yes? 8)

Weird, my wife and I always watch UC too. :)

Likewise, she's better at classical music! But then, I got the 'composers' names written in cyrillic' straight away. ;)

She got Titanic immediately. But when Paxman said "now three more scores by James Horner" we both laughed, because all I could think was "they're all going to sound the same"!

Anyway, we came away from that round with 25 points. 8)

So it's not just me that was sad enough to be thrilled by that, then?

Oh good :D
