Thanks. I've been reading the threads, the FAQs, the terms of service etc. I'll be on my best behavior. More like I'm walking on eggshells. Kevin |

Aw, it's not one of those places where, unless you have the most precisely accurate costume ever, you're considered a lesser being, is it? |

Having read more than a few of the threads, I would say that is exactly how it is over there. But it is the nature of the forum. They strive for 99-100% accuracy when recreating something, and pull no punches when something is either "close but no cigar" or way off. As with all things it has its merits and shortcomings. For the moment I'm interested in the WOK uniform thread going on. I think my suit would pass inspection should I decide to show it off. Kevin |

We're a one-subject board with nearly six hundred members, they're a multi-theme board with nearly six thousand members. Things are bound to be different. Similarly there's bound to be a core of good people and a few idiots who are quick to criticise or anger, and who can't spell or punctuate a post. Same as any board really. I've been a member there for a while and haven't had a problem myself. Harry |

Bit of a shame, I guess. I'd hope there's another forum that caters for the slightly less precise, but still as enthusiastic crowd. |

101, Thanks for the heads up for the other folks here. I have been a member of the RPF since 03. I was surprised to learn that not everyone here knew of the RPF. I just assumed that people found the AL via RPF like I did. Anyway, for those who do join, it is a wealth of information. The talent over there is nothing short of amazing. With that said it is lacking the neighborhood feel of the AL. Rudeness is common especially if you have thousands and thousands of members to contend with. Rudeness is not tolerated here and I prefer it that way. It tends to breed a giving atmosphere. Personally I really get a kick out of watching a person who might have limited talent or funds make a go at a prop or costume. It shows drive, perfect or not. |
