The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

My girlfriend bought me an early Christmas gift of an HDTV last month and it quit working today. It is stuck in a continuous loop of turning itself on and off. I have done lots of troubleshooting and the TV is hosed.

It is 2 days after the 30 day return policy expired. I am going to the store tomorrow to literally beg them to exchange it.

It is still under warranty, but I would rather exchange it than deal with having a repair tech come to the house.

I hope everyone's x-mas was better than mine. :)

-cheers

Not a Samsung is it?

Samsung are nice products but woefully unreliable.

It's the LN52A650

Place I bought it from wouldn't exchange it. I don't blame them. The 30 days for returning we over, although that was only 2 days ago.

Called Samsung and actually the repair place came today. They needed to take the TV to their shop.

Keeping me fingers crossed.

Funny... every Samsung product I've owned has worked perfectly. In fact I'd go so far as to recommend Samsung products over everything else.

YMMV ;)

different model here thank god - hopefully it doesnt go the same way!

i was always under the illusion that samsung were a reliable brand... jsut goes to show tha the big brands arent always best.

hope you get it fixed dude - i would imagine youre dying to get it back onto a games console. finally got to play my 360 on HD... holy hell it puts my big box tv from 6 years ago to shame!
