The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

G'day folks,

Not often I start a thread, so I want to make this one count...

I've been playing stacks of games waiting for A:CM, Fallout 3 et al to come out, and I've come across a gem. Well, two gems.

I love survival horror games, ever since I played Resident Evil on the PSX back in the 90s, Silent Hill rocks my socks and all that good stuff. I came to thinking of late that I hadn't played any genuinely terrifying games in the last few years; sure, a few with some tension and shock tactics, but nothing that had me filling my kecks all the way through.

Until I came across Penumbra...

I don't want to give ANYTHING away, but 'Penumbra: Overture' and 'Penumbra: Black Plague' are the first two parts of a trilogy, the third part is still to be released or so I believe. If you want very, very scary couple of games, grab these, turn out the lights, and play on your own with the gamma down and the sound up. You wont regret it.

I just finished the second one, it kinda prompted me to share this diamond of a game with anyone who'll care to listen. If I could offer up some advice before playing; don't use a guide, don't read up on the game before you play it, and don't play it during the daytime. It's totally, totally worth it.

P.S. - I'm not involved with the game at all, and I'm not selling it. :p

P.P.S. - If you play it or have played it, let me know what you think... Would be interesting to hear what you girls and guys thought of it.

PC only my friend!

If you'll played System Shock or System Shock 2, you may be somewhat disappointed by Bioshock... If not, then you probably wont. :)

CoD4 is freakin' brilliant though, love the soundtrack, such a well written game. And here's hoping they don't mess up Fallout 3!

Damn straight!!... COD4 is just awesome, albeit a quick single player the multiplayer is just perfect.

No not played the System Shock games... I have Bioshock on the 360 and just love it so I'm gonna by it for the superior PS3... (yes thats right I said superior!!!)

Bioshock the movie is also scheduled... I just love the whole atmosphere and story of it with the 1930's style music and background... awesome.

Fallout 3 does look good indeed... again it's got the whole 1930's look in the trailer on YouTube which adds a little somthing I think... I agree - lets hope they don't screw it up!! :D
