OK this thread i will use to update you as to my ALIEN5 Fanfic, the reason behind this is that i'm teaching myself scriptwriting and storyboarding and ive always wanted to have a crack at A5.
1st is the story treatment, then the script and i will produce designs and storyboards as i go along. Eventually the whole thing will appear on my forthcoming website.

Constructive input welcome.

Disclaimer: Any similarity between my story and the DH comics or any other works is coincidental, It just seems to be a logical progression of the story in my own mind.

Alien 5,

Characters: (characters wont make much sense but you will get an idea of the story a little from the profiles)

Victoria Mclaren: Daughter of Amanda Ripley-Mclaren, granddaughter of Ellen Ripley. Age: Mid 30’s Schoolteacher.
Notes: Always believed her grandmother died before she was born in the Nostromo incident. Shocked that her Grandmother was alive recently and confused why she never tried to visit.

Paul Santos: journalist for the Sol Herald, investigating the disappearance of the USS Sulaco for a story, finds out about Ellen Ripley and the fact shes the survivor of the Nostromo disappearance too 57 years prior. After hacking a WY database. Finds out about Victoria Mclaren and goes to her to find out more about Ripley and invites her to go with him to Thedus to try to find the missing pieces to the puzzle.

Brig. Gen. Hardcourt: 45: British Royal Space Marine Commando, when the derelict is brought to Thedus spaceport he and his company is brought in under UM peace-keeping mandate, to provide heavy security. Grows increasingly suspicious of WY's activities and orders his synthetic to keep the WY delegation under observation.

Lord Yutani: late 70’s, An old man and the last of his line, Chief Shareholder in the Weyland Yutani Corporation has a vested interest in the derelict ship and the Aliens within. Wishes to obtain Alien technology and biological materials to further both his company and his own life because its coming to an end.

Dawn: Beautiful raven haired, blue eyed synthetic android, programmed for combat and assassination. Lord Yutani’s body guard. Is sent to retrieved the Pilots cryopod when WY's attempts to obtain an egg failed horrifically. Is thwarted by Kevin, and in the ensuing H2H fight the Pilots cryopod is breached causing the Pilot to awaken.

Kevin: Military Synthetic Droid, resembling an average sized mid 30’s human male. Works as BrGen Hardcourt’s assistant, is used to observe WU movements when Hardcourt suspects WU corporate dirty dealings.

Colour Sergeant Duffy: 38:senior Sergeant among the peacekeepers, is well respected for his common sense and quiet yet authoritarian manner. Known for his handlebar moustache and fearlessness in combat. Only known human to have gone into hand-to-hand combat with an alien and survived. Has close working relationship with the Brig.Gen.

Jackson: Communications officer on the SS Zodiac, also a corporate spy on behalf of WY, is ordered to retrieve an egg when the second derelict is discovered. Is in FTL communication with Lord Yutani.
Manages to smuggle egg back to Thedus spaceport but is infected and killed when the face hugger makes him a host and the chestburster breaks free escaping into the spaceport.

Dr Alan Mellstock: Chief scientist of the science team studying the derelict, the Aliens and the Space Pilot. He is the first knows scientist to work on studying the Aliens. Clashes with the Gen. when Hardcourt realises the danger the Aliens poses.

Space Pilot, Pilot, Space Jockey: Is awakened mid-story, although a benign race, it panics and brutally kills several people trying to evade capture. Is in telepathic communication with Victoria Mclaren when it senses that Mclaren doesn’t mean it harm..

Ellen Ripley: Not the real Ripley but the mental manifestation of the Pilots mental communications with Victoria. VM sees Ripley as she imagines her to be, an older Grandmotherly yet stern character, through this character Victoria ‘talks‘ to the Pilot.

Marine design: Colour Sgt Duffy in UM marine armour. Holding a StarCOM 8mm recoiless/caseless sidearm with extended 30rd mag.

Questions:

1. What's 'YU'?

2. Are you spelling Weyland Yutani differently on purpose?

3. How come Burke didn't know about Victoria and tell Ripley she had a grandchild?

3) Part of the reason why Victoria is heading out to Thedus: to find out.

I'll give a little more: The journalist Santos hacked a database, he knows about the Suloco/Nostromo, he knows about the crews, he knows about the derelict ship, what he doesnt know is why. (The Aliens) Through the hacking he found out about Ripley and his investigation took him to Victoria. She never knew. Question is why.

Interesting storyarc.
Must admit the Lord sounds a little like the Dark Horse comic character who wanted a long healthy life,living off the Queen`s "Honey". He also has a synth bodyguard if memory serves.

It`s certainly going to be an interesting story.
One question though Sgt Duffy,has he went toe to toe with a BUG prior to this story or are we getting an insight that he will go toe to toe & win?

As your going to have to compile a HOW Sgt Duffy has met these bugs before (as LV-426 seems to be the only encounted area to date).

Sgt. Duffy encounters the Alien in the story to com, you will like how he takes one out. Its with a pulse rifle but NOT how you think.

Wasn`t accusing you mate,just saying similar concerning the DH connection. At the end of the day DH went in a few directions with the ALIENS franchise.

As for Sgt Duffy,well look forward to how he took a bug out with his PR but not the norm way. Pumelled it to death with the butt??
