The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hey all.

Okay, so there's a stupid tropical storm (soon to be a hurricane) which had a projected landfall right in my backyard as of earlier today, so work is calling all of us in and telling us we won't be going home after our shift tonight.

So, I may be out-of-touch for a few days.

This system is unpredictable and a worst-case scenario is that it stalls and strengthens into a monster; I hope it just hits tonight as a strong tropical storm or even just a Cat 1 hurricane.

Anyways, wish us luck. I'll be back in touch when I can.

Hah... that's great! I've never seen that cam before.

Normally right now it's sunny and whatnot; you can see it's greying over nicely already and normally that beach would be packed... though I don't think it's going to hit directly on our heads anymore. I'm watching weather.com and it looks like it'll hit down by Ft. Myers area, which is a ways south of us.

Sixty, thank you.

Paradise? It's hell even when it isn't storming.

It's supposed to start hitting us tomorrow, and of course something like a hurricane isn't enough to warrant me getting a day off.

Yep, it's official the terraforming station for Florida Colony is out of whack so here's hoping we all pull through safely.

Well, last night at work was horrible. Rain was awful, roads were invisible, many of them were closed from flooding, and it took forever. Luckily, traffic was incredibly light since I was one of the only people stupid enough to be out on the road.

Back to work this morning, and the storm's mostly moved off north. Just some light rain and flooded roads. So, all's well on the Orlando front. Good luck to our friends farther north.

Well judging by the Weather Channel... that would be myself and Profiler... and I think Treadwell (don't you live in Jax?).

Looks like Thursday it will be making re-landfall so I'm expecting torrential rain all day. Like that's any different than any Summer day.

:)

Sarasota was extremely lucky... we had some high winds, was overcast, and a little rain... that was it.

The damn thing is still sitting out there on the coast. I was in the projected path for today... now it looks like tommorrow. This bites big time.

Fay is a bitch.

I can't recall seeing a storm make landfall so often and still stay somewhat organized; it forming an eye over land was strange enough...

Just don't get too eaten by the explosive mosquito population early next week.

Stay safe out there! Sometimes it is nice to live in Alaska. All we have to worry about are avalanches in the winter and bears in the summer lol
