The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Got this story off another board. We own these men so much and it is a shame more of their stories are not being told.

I agree, My Dad was one of the Desert Rats in WW2 North Africa, he went from chattering like crazy about what he saw to a contemplative silence. I know he saw and did so much in those years. He was captured by the Germans at Anzio in Italy. Only about 3 guys out of his Platoon escaped alive after that battle.

He told me he saw a Mustang attack a train in WW2, the Yanks he said had planes shadowing the POW prisoner convoys. They never attacked but they watched. Some times they were Kittyhaws or Lightnings or Thunderbolts, this day it was Several mustangs anyway this train pulled into a station on the other side of a valley in Austria and these p51's attacked, they strafed and rocketed the train until it was burning. Then the train exploded, it was carrying ammo. The prisoner convoy cheered. And the lead mustang did a wing wave at the British POW's before turning away.

Thats why I reenact ww2. You get to meet the vets who were there and hear their stories. Like my best friends dad who was in the Army from 1940 to 1972. Fought in ww2 Korea and spent an unbelievable 9 tours in Vitetnam as a Green Beret. 15 years of his 32 was spent in combat. But he still contends that he didn't do anything special so doesn't really talk about thing's.

Wow. I am not into all the Stars and Stripes stuff, but that was very touching. :) I am glad I watched it. I will pass that along to my friends through an email.

Those WWII guys and gals had it so rough. I know Band of Brothers was only a Hollywood version of events, but that was hard to watch.

I hope this whole mess ends soon and our brave men and women come home. We have so much to live for right here.....

Sorry, that is my long haired hippie coming out. I am all for peace and love. Unless we have to kill Xenomorphs!!!!!
