Just found out the news myself.

Definitely one of the fathers of science fiction!

But what a long life he had! :o

2001 will always be my favourite of his works- I had to read Childhood's End in highschool.

I'm very sad to hear this, A.C Clarke always was and probably always will be one of my favorite SF writers.

So I raise my glass to you Arthur and wish you a fond farewell, thanks for all the pleasure you gave me in my childhood reading your books!

A brilliant mind and exceptional visionary.
I would say 2001 is my favorite of his works, too.

Apparently, Arthur C Clarke was one of the first three people in the world
to use email, interestingly enough. Back in the early 70's, I think I read.

What a grand old life! Cool initials, too...
