Camera headset eh,nice idea indeed. Though a few NATO countries have dabbled in this,though moreso Experiment & SpecOps related ops. Though have to say the IDF is one where this kit would see a lot of field use (realtime). I`m surprised the Corner gun isn`t hanging on the wall though. Now that too is a Big step forward

While I worked in a military subcontractor several years ago, DND had opened bids for a wearable computer that did include helmet cam, helmet monitor, VoIP, video playback, IFF and things like that. This is of public knowledge and was publicized as "soldier of the future" in the media. However, I cannot say if any contracts was awarded or the status of the project. Nevertheless, the concept of audio-video feedback for each soldier and wearable HUD is something that is definitely being considered by the current military. |
