The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Does anyone know the real meaning of this sign?

The wife, kidlet, and I headed up to Philly for Thanksgiving. She wanted to take the Blue Ridge Parkway to see the sites and this was a sign we saw on our journeys. No idea what it really means, although I'm sure it means don't ride like an idiot. LOL.

We call it the "Wheeeee! Sign"

If the upper sign is the "wheeeeee" sign, then the lower one could be the "ET phone home" one? Or am I getting this wrong?

No we call the lower one the "Whee!" sign. The upper one is obviously a "It's a 2 lane road with little or no guardrails on really high mountains, so hold on to your lunch" sign.

Hmm... But where is ET in the pic?

Are there any humps or small bridges. When you go over them at speed you tend to rise up in your seat a bit when in the car so if you were on a motorbike I would guess this would be quite hazardous.

The "hump" is actually a curved two lane road.

The motorcyclist is actually lying facedown off the road (as well as his bike lying flat) because he took the curve too fast.

Now look at him... dead.

Who's laughing now dead guy!

No real humps, but I suppose they might be treacherous curves anyway. Lord knows they close the Parkway on the first sign of frost so it wouldn't just be an icy road.

Oh my god! Maybe Kevin is right! It does look like he's just laying there... thinking "Oh aren't I a tough guy for not wearing a helmet. Now I'm going to bleed out slowly if the bears don't eat me alive first."

"Theme park ahead"?

Some kind of Stuntman-commercial?

"Look mommy, no hands!"

Or maybe we should just stick with calling it the "Wheeee!"-sign...
