WTF?! Why does every movie nowadays have to be:
1) A remake
2) A "Reinvisioning"
3) An Adaptation of a comic or novel?
I think it's one of those "Which came first? The chicken or the egg?" arguments...
Are the moviemakers feeding us this stuff because it is what the moviegoers are "into" these days... Or are the moviegoers into these kinds of movies because it's what the moviemakers have been feeding us?
For the record I liked Batman Begins. I also liked Batman Forever- but wished Batman and Robin had never taken place (easily top ten worst films
ever!).
Restarting the Batman franchise with Begins was a brilliant move considering B&R killed the series for 8 years! I also found it to be a little more in tune with events as they occurred in the comics (for instance Bruce Wayne's parents being killed by Joe Chill rather than Jack Napier).
I have not seen Transformers yet- but have only heard praise about it.
However I do know what you mean about there being a feeling of "going back to the well one too many times" though.
