The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

You know...

Both pistols vaguely resemble a Smith & Wesson Model 39 and 59 respectively. The M39 was Vasquez's sidearm of choice.

Your black cap gun looks somewhat like the correct M39:

Image

Whereas the green camo gun would look a lot like an M59 if you painted it black and sanded down the front of the trigger guard to remove the pointed part:

Honestly I would take the green one off your hands... But it needs to be made of clear plastic to be allowed in Canada. :(

Garage sale. Used toy store. Consignment shop.

Get a Job? I know that's been suggested before.

Don't be self defeating. If you need money, and you save up money for an item... don't turn around and buy something else. Happens to me all the time. Pick a goal, or a costuming genre, and only save up for items from that genre.

There is a time to be thrown out of the proverbial nest so you can fly on your own.

Mow some lawns/shovel snow/rake leaves for the neighbors, that's how I earn my quick cash.

Seriously, 4-5 hours of outside work and you voila, $50.

When I lived in NY I was out at 5am shovelling driveways....made $200 in 2 hours because I was out before people wanted to leave for work.

Walking home at 9am when all the towns kids were out with their shovels wondering what was going on. Snooze ya' lose.
I needed money though and couldn't 'legally' work.

Plenty of money to be made.....just need to find out the best way how ;)
