The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

This is off topic but since everyone's at it I thought I may as well :D

The costume consists of all real-world items apart from the flak vest which was custom made for the film.

The Screen accurate components for the Carlos Olivera costume are as follows:
  • Black flak vest (custom made for the film)
  • Charcoal Gray 2 Pocket BDU Shirt
  • Tru-Spec SWAT Tactical Uniform (STU), TAC Tigerstripe Pants
  • Viper South African Assault Vest (2.5" patch on chest, 5.5" patch on back with name tag patch above)
  • Hatch LR10 Reactor Rappel Gloves
  • Hatch Centurion elbow pads (black)
  • Hatch Centurion knee pads (black)
  • Pistol belt with quick release buckle clip (black)
  • Left & Right Magnum Research cordura tactical holsters
  • 2x Israel Military Industries Desert Eagle .50AE
  • Israel Military Industries Galil Micro Assault Rifle (MAR)
  • Suunto Vector XBlack negative display watch
  • Biltrite Boots (black)
As mentioned above the flak vest was custom made for the film so this is the only item that's not available to source accurately, the particular tigerstripe pants used in the film are no longer made which makes them difficult but not impossible to find but the shirt can still be found online as can all the other items in the list.

I picked up all of the screen accurate parts (apart from the boots, I have two pairs of black combat boots so they'll do) and lucky for me I managed to get my hands on an incomplete screen used Carlos Olivera costume consisting of the flak vest, shirt and pants!!

The assault vest was modified for the film as well, I'll post a tutorial on that once I have modified mine.

I picked up the Suunto XBlack watch new on eBay:

Carlos uses a pair of .50AE Desert Eagles so I got two Tokyo Marui ones which are awesome:

The rest of the parts were sourced from a few online shops and the Magnum Research holsters were bought direct:

The screen accurate patches (2.5" & 5.5") aren't easily found but I picked up 3" and 6" patches on eBay that are certainly close enough.

The only items I've been waiting on are the 6" patch and the pistol belt which finally arrived so I got everything on and took some pics in my kitchen - they're not the best as I had to use the timer on the camera due to being home alone.

Still haven't modified the assault vest or fitted the back patch but it's amost there - I'll be happier when I can get my hands on a Galil MAR to really finish the costume but I guess I can use my MP5A5 with it ;)

This all came together much quicker than I expected, I thought the S.T.A.R.S. costume would be finished first but I'm still waiting on the main parts for it

Once I have modified the assault vest and fitted the remaining patches I'll write a tutorial for the modifications and post some more pics - I'm also going to use the UBCS flak vest as a template to make the S.T.A.R.S. one in ID Green so will post my progress on that as well.

Thanks - I guess I could bring it along but I'll be USCM for the day really.

Maybe I can sneak off and suit up for an hour though :D

So you were the winner of the auction ;)

Looking very good. Geordi will probably be giving you a call in the near future about the flak vest... :D
