The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Well,
Here it is.
I started off by taking it apart and gutting all the nerf parts out of it.
Then I painted the insides all black so that none of the bright colours would show through the vents.
Epoxied it back together.
Sanded off all the logos.
Body filled all the screw holes, and some seams.
More sanding.
Primed, painted.
Masked off, and painted again.
A little dry brush of silver.
A tiny bit of graffiti to personalize it.
And lastly I used a real fine tip marker to highlite all the lines.
I think it looks pretty darn good.
She makes her first debut at Dcon this year !

All the pics can be seen here

These just keep looking better and better. Can you do a side by side picture of the original version, compared to the final one?

What's that little skull graphic on the side?

Kev, That's because you need to find someone willing to ship to the UK.

They simply arn't available over here.:(

Some ebayers will ship to UK but you'll pay for it. My first one cost £40. The trick is to buy in bulk, The third and fourth were bought at the same time and get a shared postage discount. 'specially if you tell 'em to get rid of the boxes..:)

As a suggestion... Unless you really want your gun to split into carbine and pistol, carefully pop the pistol handle back off.

Honestly, when you paint the durn thing, it is tight and will rub and scrape at the connection. So if you want to have it split, think about that too. Oh and the orange plastic is bad. Really awful about holding paint. Even if you sand and prime, etc... it can pop the paint clean off if you do something before it's sealed.

Hey thanks Roughneckone, yeah I saw that one but didn’t like the price. Fortunately I have one on route from a buddy of mine in the US.

Also found this web site for those looking to get a little more performance.

I installed the front grip on mine and then couldn't get the b*st*rd off. Had to dismantle it, which I was going to do anyway.

This one is for my Clone Trooper :)

Very nice!

I honestly stuck the pistol grip on mine twice while playing with it long before painting it... I would just set it down and smack it in the right direction with the palm of my hand. A cracking sound, but no breakage and it popped off.

Scott, lookin' freakin' awesome brother!! Awesome!

Tony, Clone Trooper, 'eh? Waaay cool! That'll rock!

And since Tony's already hijacked this thread, I'll post mine too.

It's been done for quite awhile now...it's for my RE Centurion.

btw, use Krylon Fusion paint to primer it for your regular coating of paint.

Mine's Fusion Black. I really like the finish of it, sort of a "parkerized". It's sanded emblems off, holes filled, smoothed, then weathered...

And you stuck a PR SPAS grip on it too! NICE!! :D

Does anyone know if you can take the flip down bi-pod looking things off? I hate them.

By the way- mine is standard flat black right now. Soon to be heavily weathered!

You can't take them off easily... but you can take it off.

But you can flip it up and it looks good.
