Post subject:  Was anyone here involved in making Judge Dredd?
Just curious. I always enjoyed this film, despite being shot down by most critics and many of the fans of the source material.

Any behind the scenes videos or anything like that?

Anyone know what happened to all the Lawmaster motorcycles? I ride motorcycle myself, and that might be an interesting project. :)

Does anyone know of plans/schematics for the movie Lawmasters?

I do believe the lawmaster motorcycles were purchased along with the massive city sets by Scott Free productions, Ridley and Tony Scott's company. My understanding is they purchased the entire studio lot. The sets and props were supposed to be recycled for Blade Runner 2, which never happened (obviously) and eventually it was all torn down.

I didn't hate the film, just wish they would have made it darker and more dramatic, and much less comedic. I do like the props, and the fact that James Remar (the first HICKS) was seen using a pulse rifle lookin' gun!!

I got a laugh out of that when I pointed it out to my wife. :)

I wonder why BR2 was never done.

I'm suprised the moulds for the Lawmaster bike bodies have never shown up anywhere. It would be cool to have a functioning one... minus the flying ability of course. :)

Jerry Perenchio. Same reason the 3 disc special edition DVD never happened. He owns the bulk of the rights, hates the film (and ridley scott) and wants it all buried forever, or until he dies and his kids sell the rights back to WB anyhow.

Personally I wouldn't mind seeing a few plans for the Lawmaster myself, not that I have the Cash/Skill/Time to tackle a projects as huge as that.

I did hear the Prop Store of London has one knocking around their warehouse.

I got all excited when I saw there were like 4 new postings in my thread. :)

It would be interesting to confirm if Propstore has one. From what I was told, a single person bought/stored the majority of the props (but not the sets), but when he passed away much of them were sold off. He had Moulds, Hero and stunt Lawgivers, between 3-6 Lawmasters, and bunches of other stuff.

Well my source on the Prop Store of London is a pretty reliable one, its almost his second home at times! Looking through their archive, they have had a fair bit of Dredd stuff go their way.

Would be quite a thing to track down that other stuff, sounds like a possible Judge Dredd goldmine.

So if anyone knows anything, spill the beans orDr Zoidberg gets it! :lol:

When the stuff goes up for sale the pictures are normally pretty good so I will be worth keeping an eye on their web site. I don’t think they are the type of establishment to distribute reference photos so that might be your best bet.

Hey guys,

They built eight Lawmasters in total; Five of them were 'stunt' bikes, powered by 650cc engines, and were used for wheel spin shots, and fast acceleration shots. They were notoriously difficult to ride, looking fantastic but being an incredibly stupid design in motorcycle-terms and so only the stunt artists were allowed to ride them.
The other three were basically mopeds, used by the actors. They were not very powerful at all, and designed so that the actor could 'twist and go'.

I think if you want to build a replica, to make it anywhere near road-worthy you'd have to deviate from the design quite a lot.

I don't think you;d need to deviate from the design so much as slightly modify the design.

Many Charlie Ferguson's, er... Harley Davidson's use those "ape hanger" style handlebars like the lawmaster has. You might need to adjust the L/R sides some but I think it could be done. The thing is a huge bike so it's not going to handle like a Suzuki GSX-R sport bike. It will wallow like a pregnant Yak... in other words, like a Harley. :lol:
