What is the easiest way to velcro a flight suit.
Meaning, attach velcro to both the suit and patches.
Wear to buy?
Sew or glue?

connecting to the suit, i'd say sew it and for patch.....i'm gonna bet and say it's sewen as well, but playing it siafe i'd say glued on

as per where to get it, once again i'd bet and say it just really big normal velcro strips cut to size

lot of betting eh?

I have a ton of patches, it would be nice to have them all interchangable.
I am sure the current military guys have had to do it, although, I think the new bdu's are pre velcro-ed.

2 inch - 'Industrial Strength' Velcro.
Find it at most any fabric store.
It is sold by the yard.
Strong stuff and has a very sticky back.

I would sew the soft (loop) side of the Velcro
to the suit, and the stronger (hook) portion can be
stuck right to the backside of the patch.

*You could throw a stitch into the patch as well, but
it really doesn't need it.
I have a patch that has held for several years just using the sticky back.

I used standard velcro at one time and paid a local seamstress to sew the fuzzy side onto my BDU jackets. Cost me about $15 to get 3-4 BDU jackets done. The hook side of the sticky back stuff works okay on the back of the patches, but it can pull free if you're not careful removing the patches.

I've had some on the back of my Stargate patches since... 1998 or so and they're still stuck on fine, again, as long as you're careful removing them.

One thing about any "sticky back" velcro is that it's a bear to hand sew through and will gum up a machine if that's the route your trying. Regular velcro will hold just fine and is much, much easier to apply.
