So, after some encouragement from several members of the prop community, I decided to finally take the 15 minute drive to scope out the stuff at the Propstore of London! And boy did I come away with a haul! :D

Image

The costume of the British Army border guards from Children of Men! Full costume including boots, trousers, fleece and jacket, helmet, body armour and tactical vest! The M4 is my own, but similar to those used in the film.

Sarge's costume from Doom! Vest, overalls, knife (not pictured), communicator and earpiece. Desert Eagle is a TM Hard Kick version, boots I borrowed from the CoM uniform (they are just British Army assault boots anyhow).

Very, very pleased with my haul. Thanks to Osmotic, Geordi and others for their recommendations and advice :D

The DE is a Tokyo Marui Hardkick airsoft pistol - about as practical as I can get on my budget. Deacts are killer, and I don't know if blank-firing ones are available.

Nice haul anyway!

Lookin' good there Pete! Now you have to save up, or weren't you considering a scratch build of the Sarge's rifle from Doom. :)

I was never a fan of Sarge's rifle... however, I have s'more money set aside, which will hopefully be going the way of Matsuo sometime in the near future towards a Duke-like project ;)

Gotcha. :)

Kind of odd, but each trooper in Doom carried a similar, yet different weapon, with the exception of the Kid and the guy with the 3 barrel minigun.

This was Mac's rifle...

I like the overall style of Grimm's rifle (and the slightly shorter carbine length), but I do like the monster flash light in Duke's. :D

I figured that the Duke rifle (which is pretty much identical to Portman's as well) was the right way to go. The streamlined look of the Reaper rifle doesn't really do it for me, and the Sarge rifle just looks too blocky. And is it me, or does the Mac rifle just look really flimsy - especially at the buttstock and scope points?

Goat's shotgun would be quite easy to make, looking at photos. I just don't know if I would really want to - it doesn't look that nice outside of the movie

Cool stuff Pete. I have a few things from the ole Propstore myself. Great folks there. Certainly looks like you had fun on your visit;)

I am at the moment, and don't worry, it's considerably lower budget than your own!

Nice costumes btw, how does The Rock smell?!

The Rock's smell? Ah, Pete's just taking it for granite. ;)
Oh sure, making the decision to buy put him between a Rock and a hard place, but when all's said and done Fal Bowden really knows how to Rock and roll.

Okay, I'll be quiet now. :D

The Rock, and now Karl Urban and Razaaq Adoti, can all be confirmed as smelling slightly sugary. Bloody fake blood bloody blood blood.

I wonder how many actors gained weight over the years from "eating" caro syrup stage blood.

Don't clean that! You'll remove all the screenusedyness-ness out of it!
