Not sure if many of you saw the little post about Treats for Troops in another thread or not. I was listening to talk radio while at my desk last week and was told about this website. I checked it out and for only $30 you can send a care package to troops out in the field this christmas. I'm going to be sending one from my next pay check but then I thought, what if we could pool together and send an even bigger care package or many smaller care packages to the troops of behald of the USCM & Aliens Legacy We all play the soldier and have a lot of fun doing it and I think this would be a great way to............well do something nice ![]() What do you all think? Not to hijack, but. Karen Traviss had this posted on her blog: www.uk4u.org/home.htm . Looks to be a similiar organization, except deals with UK troops instead of US ones. |

Either one sounds cool - they need to know they have our support. Keep us posted about doing a group thing. |

Well I've got a few e-mails and posts with interest so if you guys want to just paypal funds to me I can use my paypal card to purchase the goods and get them sent out ASAP for the troops. Again you just purchase the packages from the website and they take care of the rest. Just send whatever you want to donate and the amount we can total up will determine what package we can purchase. You have to select a military branch so I was thinking obviously the marines. Then just a random state of a soldier fighting the war on terror. My paypal addy is tonyandcherie16(at)hotmail(dot)com Deadline for donations is Sunday I'll post a total middle of next week because Christmas is fast approaching. Thanks again to all who have shown interest. Even a couple of dollars will help ![]() Edited by: at: 12/10/06 12:57 pm |

Well thanks to the kind donations of marines here on the board and indeed in the USCM we were able to do the following: Dear Jamila, Hello, Hero This package is a small token showing our respect and gratitude for your honor, bravery and sacrifice on behalf of a great country. You make America and the whole world a safer place, for everyone. Semper Fi, The United States Colonial Marines Jamilla, a female marine from Georgia is serving overseas due to the war on terror. Now she will receive this gift basket from the USCM for Christmas. Thank you!!!!! If people still want to donate there is still a little bit of time left to send another basket out. They start at just $29.95 ![]() |
