Well after being plagued with car problems this month I decided to bite the bullet and get some new wheels.

Managed to find a truck (something I've never had before) for sale up the street by a private owner- saved a lot compared to buying it from a sleezy car lot. Scored it for $3800.

It does need some work (mostly cosmetic) but nothing I won't be able to buff out.

Didn't have time to resize the pics so I've linked them (they are rather large):

It also needs a front grill, bumper, turn signals, alternator, battery, starter, water pump, radiator, hoses, spark plugs, steering column, shocks, brakes, oil pan, rear suspension, transmission, ignition, and one of the rear taillights is out. Tires are OK!

Of course I'll have to get it towed to the shop- but I've got CAA (our version of AAA), so it should only cost $50 bucks.

This has been parked in a mall parking lot near my house for two weeks now- thought I'd have some fun with it.

Body work looks pretty good to.

From the front......not so good.

I was most worried with the 'had car troubles as of late' because if memory serves me correct we own the sme kind of car

I like mine. But seriousely, mine is in much better shape than that one.Kevin, the reason why I asked that above is that this one looks like the perfect stolen vehicle to me. Rather than check VIN's, people would assume it is simply broke down...

Tom- there's a for sale sign on the dash. I didn't even bother to see how much they want for it.

I believe the owner is OK.

But yes- many an abandoned vehicle (after being stolen and driven into the ground) have been left in a parking lot like this.

One of them was left in the parking lot of the store I work at- this one looked like it was completely gutted. All windows smashed, all tires flatened, the front end bashed in, and the inside set a flame!

Wish I had my camera for that one! Alas it was towed by the time I left work.

Well then. It looks like I can show of a picture of my S10 and feel okay about it.

I plan to mount a .50 on it in a few months. Duck hunting is going to be a lot of fun this year.
