Heed these wise words once told to me by a wise man...
"Football [soccer] is a gentlemen's game played by hooligans;
Rugby is a hooligan's game played by gentlemen."
Personally I like to say, football [soccer] is a pansies game played by pansies. Well, at least in the "professional" realm anyway.
God forbid a soccer player should twist an ankle! It's the end of the world and mandates a huge ammount of rolling around, crying, and generally looking for sympathy where it's fairly well underserved.
That's one of the things I really HATE about the game. It's such a damn drama!!
I've played rugby in the past with guys who've practically had ribs sticking out and they've still been running around flattening the s**t out of the other teams winger.
Now them's real men!!
