The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I've never been big on working out but I used to knock out 40 pushups twice a day.
I stopped when I broke my wrist in April 2009. With it went the situps as well. Never really got around to starting again.

Seeing your facebook updates Dom, thanks to the 100 pushups iphone app has inspired me to get back into it.

Going to have a crack at the 200 situps program too.
I did toy with the 200 squats, but after a pleasing result in the pre-test I'm not going to bother. All that walking every year seems to be doing well enough for me at the moment.

I could definately do with toning the old midsection a little.

Well it worked for me, of course it could have been the running and the diet that did it too. :?

Feels good doesn't it?

Funny story..I can wear a M or L shirt. But yesterday I had to get a XL cycling jersey because they run so small...I was pissed because I haven't bought anything bigger than a L in a year.

I've completely fallen off the wagon. I'm not going to the gym. I've gone back to my old eating habits and I feel like crap. I keep getting sick and it's really getting me down. I've just lost all my motivation.

The only good thing is that I'm maintaining my weight so those 25lbs I lost last year have stayed off. It's pretty surprising considering how bad my diet has been recently.

Dom - I'm really impressed with your progress. Makes me feel even worse for sitting on my arse whilst you're sweating away at the gym. ;) Keep up the good work, Marine!

After some research and consideration, I've decided to keep going and reach my "ideal weight" which should be 192 lbs. This means a total loss of 64 lbs with 43 lbs to go. So, here goes.

That's pretty good advice there, Dom. When you see the C25K written out like that tho, it looks pretty scary.

My mother has just started C25K and she's 61. Makes me feel like a complete slacker. LOL!

I've been doing equal parts of cardio on the treadmill and the bike on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. For Mondays and Wednesdays, I've been doing the swordsmanship training. On Fridays, I do strength training for about half an hour and do strides for up to half an hour at best. I'm starting to develop muscle tone since the start of the semester after pumping more than 20 hours at the fitness center.

Ooh-rah! Well done! :D

I'm just getting over a nasty case of tonsillitis. Still taking antibiotics but I'm hoping to get into the gym tomorrow for a run.

Feeling pretty good today! :)

I did the P90X shoulders/arms workout this afternoon. I don't have any weights at home so I used the good ol' standby of tins of beans. They only weigh about a pound each (which is pitiful and I can/do use more when I have access to it) but I was only using them for a little resistance and to make sure I kept good form during the movements. It's a good workout. The most difficult part is probably the side-tri-rises, which I still managed to do 10-12 on each side though my form was a bit sloppy towards the end of each set.

I'm particularly looking to tone my triceps. Since my weight loss I've developed a nasty case of 'bingo wings' and with the spring/summer coming I want to be able to wear short sleeved tops without having to worry too much about the wobbly bits. ;) So, other than tricep kickbacks and chair dips are there any other good exercises I could be doing to help tone up?

Off for my run now... Ooh-rah!
