The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

The feeling on Fireflyprops.net is that this version is pulled/based on the previous QMx pistol, so just as accurate as the stunt pistol they based that on, but made in polystone it'd be too fragile for costuming, so for display only.

Gonna be gettin' awful crowded in my BDR display case.

QMx recently Tweeted a pic of the Serenity model used for some shots in the film.

It's BIG!

The Ultimate Recovered Artifact: The Serenity Filming Miniature

About three months ago, while getting a very rare tour of the Universal archives, we came across something tucked into a corner and covered in plastic that made our hearts skip a beat: a highly-detailed 12-foot-long filming model of the Reaverized Serenity. We could hardly believe what we were seeing!

As many Browncoats know, there has been a rumor around for years that a filming miniature used for the crash scene on Mr. Universe's planet. But that rumor was either denied as either being totally false, or that the miniature used was a simple styrofoam model. As you can see from the picture below, it does exist and is about as far from a "simple" model as you could imagine.

The archivists were generous enough to let us come back last month with a camera and crew to fully document the model – ALL 12 FEET OF HER! So, to start off the New Year right, we wanted to introduce you to the biggest, most impressive Serenity ever made (QMx designer Hawk included for scale).

Later this week we will be publishing a full gallery of images on qmxonline.com. But we couldn't wait to at least give you a taste of what's to come :-)

The BDR is a studio replica, but obviously for a smaller studio than that one.

Bought a resin prop replica on the RPF of Burgess' laser pistol from the episode Heart of Gold a couple of months ago.

I got Nick to assemble and paint it for me, as my skills are sadly lacking in both departments. :)

Received my completed pistol last night:

I did see something from Lego about it, saying that their products are aimed at children, so an adult themed show isn't going to get a Lego set. :|

Unless it is Indiana Jones or Lord of the Rings...

And like the huge Star Destroyer or Millennium Falcon kits are for kids, right?

Raiders was only a PG, so aimed at kids.

It wasn't the cost of the set, more the subject matter. i.e. They wouldn't do any for R rated films.

Not actually Firefly related, but it's Nathan Fillion.

I have one of the preview ones left over from SDCC and it's a more pastel coloured print than this one, but still awesome. 8)

I asked Jason if this version differed from the original:
Quote:
@PVBuk Yes, this one is fully painted. And larger, 17" x 22". And it's available with a double mat that fits an 18" x 24" frame.

I am in awe of your collection. I just started watching Castle on Hulu. Need to catch up on the previous seasons. Since you and Andy got me watching Firefly I was able to pick up a few things. First being the series and Serenity movie Blu Ray. Being late to the party, QMX and ebay have been major sources of items.

QMX Fruity Oat Girls
QMX Money Packs
QMX 10 Anniversary Poster
QMX Keep Flyin' Prints
QMX Metal Plated Mal Serenity Pistol
QMX LDH Serenity, any larger scale looks like paper model of Firefly for me as I cannot swing the price for TBDR Serenity.
Food Bar made out of soap, waiting on the run of soft 1:1 scale bars.
Dark Horse Serenity Ornament
Diamond Select Mal Serenity bust
Phil Firefly Mal Pistol Casting, thanks Rex!
Wilco Firely Mal Pistol Casting
Cheap Jayne Grenade
Tracey Can of Beans and Opener, still looking for the micro radio to make the recorder.
Serenity Offical Visual Companion
Leather Bound Firefly: A Celebration book
Jayne Serenity Binky Knife
Table Windmill Tin, not screen used but same found item.
Various Coins in Canvas Bag
Production PAL
47a All Metal Firefly Mal Pistol, I lucked out on this and got to build it myself. It is heavy as all heck. Need a stand.

Hopefully when I make my way over there next year I can stop and say hello. Again I love your collection.

Thanks!

Greg

Yeah that is where I picked up the PAL and 47a. Great site for information and a majority of my experiences have been great there. Waiting on Rob to do the food bars. He has helped me out a lot with all my questions. Does not hold a candle to this site or group of people/friends.

Thanks!
