The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

As someone who actually IS a lesbian, I have gotten my share of crap from more people than I can count throughout my entire life. But you know what? To hell with them... most people are idiots and not worth the energy to get upset over. Nobody can hurt you unless you let them, and those people simply aren't worth it. I once had a psychology instructor in college who said "whenever you deal with someone who does something that upsets you, stop for a second and rate on a scale of 1 to 10 just how important that person really is to you... if they don't rate at least a 5 then to hell with them!" Good advice in my opinion.

Keep doing what makes you happy and don't let the idiots get to you Abi!

Rex, I've been in your shoes, at least in terms of being mistaken for a man in costume. I do a Snowtrooper with the 501st and not a damn person seems to realize I'm a woman. You do it for you.

Everyone else has really said it pretty well. Girl, you just have to let your insides match your outsides, and be the bad-ass chick I know you can be!

Hmm, alternative? OK. Not trying to assert anything here other than that people should live their own lives without trying to please every yahoo, yutz, and yokel out there... And I've been "out" for many years. =p

Dont sweat it, Rex.

As of next monday, Amber will be in my posession and there'll be a second girl bug in the Wall, although Ill no doubt confuse the hell outta some folk. Mandy's suggested getting her a collar [no idea what kind yet] and Ive got plans to include other feminine traits. Maybe Weyland Yutani UK [Northern Division] is raising female Xenos for some nefarious purpose.

Haters gon' hate.

Fair enough, but it didnt seem to be a requirement of joining the Forum. So I didn't mention it until a situation presented itself in which it had relevance to the discussion of being supportive of another member being harassed over who she was and being referred to as "gay".

You seem concerned. Does my being open about it bother you?

Rex, I'm actually very surprised that you'd get bad comments. If I saw an Alien at a show with a pink collar, I'd think "Excellent! A girl Alien". That's about it. Maybe ask to get a picture with you. If someone thought you were a man, as soon as you say "I'm a girl", I'd expect them to say "Oh, sorry, I thought you were male". I don't really see what there is to hassle you about.

I thought the collar was kind of funny, espeically with it being an option to put on your Xeno in A:CM.

I'm all for telling people to fuck off. Seriously, I am. But I am also about picking your battles. In the end, it comes down to what you can live with and what is going to give you the least amount of stress emotionallly and psychologically. If you can handle confrontation, and literally telling someone to go f**k themselves, and then back it up if you have to...then keep the collar on. If you aren't, but have thick skin and don't care (and I don't think this is you since this is bothering you), then keep the collar on.

But, if you aren't...then maybe try going to a few events without the collar on and see how that works (if you are able).

And don't worry about your body type...we are ALL insecure. We ALL have imperfections. Just comes down to getting comfy in your own skin (or your xeno's). Once you do, people can sense the confidence rolling off of you and you are no longer a target, you are an alpha.

Rex, anyone who has the weakness of character that they cant except someone who is welling so stand out from the crowd to do something they love and doesnt harm anyone is not worth give two Sh*ts about. From what I've read on here you have the backing and support of the AL members. I say let Abi keep the coller and teach her to flip the bird to all those losers who says stupid sh*t.
take care and we are also here to support.

I really hope you keep the collar Rex, its as unique a part of you as Abi is.

But I totally understand why you would consider taking it off. Insults can sting, even if you have a thick skin.

Just consider this - If some people are that thick, that at no point during the slow, grinding formation of an insult in their tiny minds, is any consideration given - even with the pink collar and small, feminine stature lighting the way to the correct assumption like one of Heathrow's runways - that the person inside may be the other type of the two sexes on the planet. Imagine being that stupid. I mean proper, left and right written on your shoes stupid.

Try thinking that. And then realise that they are that f**kwitted that to actually listen to anything that spills, foaming, from their fish-like gupping mouths would actually be a waste of the hairs vibrating in the inner ear.
