The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Just got sent this email. Gives you something to think about. ;)

THE FINAL WORD ON NUTRITION

After an exhaustive review of the research literature, here's the final word on nutrition and health.

1. The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than us.
2. Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than us.
3. The Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than us.
4. Italians drink excessive amounts of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than us.
5. Germans drink beer and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than us.
6. The French eat foie-gras, full fat cheese and drink red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than us

CONCLUSION:
Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.

Oh please! I live where they invented the language! :P

Only kidding... it's a great quote and the first time I've ever been able to use it. And now that you've translated it I can actually work out what each word is. Who says you can't learn anything on the Internet?

Now, lets try and get this thread back on topic....

I've been doing a workout regime that Kevin put together for me. It's just a basic toning/weight loss workout but it seems to be going well. I've got to admit to only having done it three times in the last two weeks though as Real Life has stopped me from doing it more often... that and the fact that I was pretty stiff after the first workout as I overdid it a bit. On the plus side I've got my cardio sorted as I finally got my bicycle back on the road and I did walk 3 miles non-stop last weekend. Hoping the weather holds out this weekend so I can go on my first bike ride in five years.

Well I have a confession......only got to the gym once last week due to.......well I quit my job.
Got an offer somewhere else so took the time to hand over my responsibilities and other stuff took over my evenings etc.

Not sure how the new job is going to affect my time in the evenings, but I plan to keep going.
Ive not jumped on the scales in a while so will check to see if I've lost anything.
Been avoiding the weights and just rowing and on the elliptical to lose weight.

It's great to see how many have come onboard with this and I'd like to say a big thanks to Kev for helping everyone out and mentoring for the most effective exercises :)
Thanks Sarg!!

As of this morning:

174 lbs.
11.9 % bodyfat - not my lowest, but considering I'm in the middle of a bulking phase, I'm thrilled.

Next week is a recovery weight from weight training where it's just cardio, maybe a few bodyweight exercises here and there. The week after that starts 4 weeks of pure hell weight training. Then it's cardio with a little weight training for muscle maintenance, all the way to DC.

By DC I should be in the high 160s and single digit bodyfat %.

I was beat as hell on 0518, so I skipped a run... although yesterday I was really busy and I almost spent the day without running, but around 20H00 I felt embarrassed with my lack of motivation... so I jumped on the ol' treadmill. Where's the encouragement?

YAY DOM!! :D :P

As for me- I went to the gym yesterday for this first time in almost two weeks. The pain in my elbows has been keeping me away so I figured I needed some time off.

I did chest- which felt really weak. I couldn't even press 275 once in the decline press which shocked the hell out of me (usually I can bang off two reps on my own). It was actually pretty embarrassing- I throw all this weight onto the barbell, ask for a spotter- and can't even do it once! Then I have to deal with the spotter looking at me like... "Why are you trying to do this much weight stupid!"

Rest of the chest workout was pretty standard- dumbbell incline presses for 4 sets, and cable crossovers for 4 sets (12 sets for my entire chest workout- normally I do no more than 14 sets).

I did do a bit of a biceps/triceps workout- 4 sets of (very light) barbell curls and 4 sets of triceps pressdowns with the rope.

Today my chest really hurts (the "good" kind or sorenss). My arms don't really hurt at all which is also good- if they were truly injured I would probably be in fantastic pain today.

So I'm probably going to take it easy for the next month or two. I'll only train one bodypart once a week (as oppossed to my usual three times in two weeks).

Did my back today. Normally I'd do shoulders as well after back- but I'm taking it easy.

My left arm still hurts- nothing major but enough to remind me not to go hog wild.

I weighed myself today for the first time in months...

I'm 150lbs.

You guys are probably going to hate me- but I think I've gone a little too far with my dieting and am getting a bit too skinny. I've actually been eating Oreo Cakesters™ and sour ju-jubes lately to try and gain some weight back. Eating clean healthy food all the time isn't cutting it.

(ducks thrown lettuce and tofu)

Oh, to be eating anything that isn't rabbit food! I've put a couple of pounds back on after such a good start so I'm on a strict diet now. It's pretty hard not to be tempted by the junk food but I'm getting there. ;)

I've not been on top form this week either (girly things) but I did cycle 6 miles at the weekend and the only thing that hurt were my hands as I need to raise my handlebars. Going to be busy this weekend dragging myself around London and the MCM expo. But next week will be the start of a proper exercise program - no more slacking for me!

Ang and I fianlly got back on track with regular workouts after we got settled from the move. Those along with aerial class and Krav Maga, which we started Wednesday, keep us nice and spent. Sitting at 202 pounds with probably 15 to 18% bodyfat. I'll loose a lot of that fat by Dragon.
