Nevermind. I had it in my head that the black was outlining the chev, not the chev itself.

I had to actually check my own SSgt rank pins- Rex is correct:

My SSgt pins have three chevrons and one rocker (the circular part under the chevrons).

It's a little deceptive; partly because it is a subdued pin- I think the spaces in between the chevrons are what you're talking about when you ask about the number of stripes.

But you do have the thing upside-down Rex.

Unless it is the Canadian Colonial Marines (Canadian Forces enlisted ranks are worn points down).

So let's turn that frown upside-down (God I'm killing myself here).

You know, I first had them pointed the opposite way bro, then at DCon, I must have had 3 people ask me, why they were upside down?? So, I spun them around. Now, I feel like a doofus, I'm guessing they were just yanking my chain...

The only time stripes should be worn points up is for Drum/Pipe Majors.
