Flogging a dead horse... this mistake can be common (over 807000 times) because of the common mispronouncing of adieu. Adieu (meaning go with God, as in adios in Spanish) is properly pronounced a-dzee-UH and not a-DYOO... that's what causes the misspelling!

Re French words mispronouned or misused.
The one that gets me the most is "voilà".
If I had a pound (or a dollar - but the exchange rate's against me) for every time I see "Walla" or some other variant...
