The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Alright, guess it's my turn, since I ribbed Adonis about it.

I have to agree about a couple already thrown out - I love the Serenity blockade run. I'm also a big fan of the Last Starfighter.

Can't think of anything else right now. Could be the Nyquil.

The first thing that sprung to my mind was the space battle in RotJ (probably because it was the first major space battle I watched on the big screen).
When I think about it the best space battle was the one in "Severed Dreams". I was totally blown away when I saw that episode for the first time and it's still my favorite one.
The battle that touched me most on an emotional level was in the B5 TV-movie "In the Beginning" when the Minbari ignore the surrender and the Humans try to stop the advance of the Minbari forces towards Earth. The music makes this an incredible experience that brings tears to your eyes.

Cheers,
Stefan

Heh! Believe it or not- that's not the first battle that came to mind with me! :o

Oh, I'm disappointed. :(

Never was a fan of DS9 so I have no idea what you guys are talking about. :P

One I thought about last night was the Battle over Antarctica from Stargate SG-1. Though not actually in space, it did have space ships (F302 FTW!) and O'Neill's Amazing Space Sperm... erm, I mean the Ancient drone weapons. ;)

DS9 was pretty lousy until they introduced the Dominion and Jem'Hadar. The war with the Dominion had some great episodes and cliffhangers.

Nothing like watching hundreds upon hundreds of Starships, Klingon Battlecruisers, and Jem'Hadar Warships slug it out in a furious exchange! 8)

I think for me the show took off with "The Die is Cast"- in which the Cardassians send a fleet of twenty some odd destroyers to wipe out the Dominion homeworld- only to discover it is a trap and are attacked by 150 Jem'Hadar fighters!

After that each battle seemed to "one-up" the last with the number of ships involved.

However I'm in the same position about BSG- I watched the premiere and first few episodes- that's it! :?

Sid gave me the entire series on discs- but it's gonna take me forever to watch them! :(

Mind you that youtube clip of the Pegasus certainly was impressive! The one thing about BSG is that sense of "real time" footage.
