The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

my complete lack of computer skills strikes again!

a few weeks ago my pc downloaded an auto update. This must have included a new graphics card driver, and its made my display look all pink! i rolled back to the previous driver, and this sorted it until the next day, when it downloaded the update again! pink screen returned :(
I then rolled back the driver again, and turned off auto updates, but a few days later its still downloaded and installed the update again.

getting abit annoyed with a pink screen now, anyone got any ideas how to sort it?

im using windows xp by the way

cheers

its a nice tool thats helps gettin privacy from microsoft´s spys

f.e. you can turn off all auto updates and some other stuff

or just turn off auto updates in system control menue and then security center --> autoupdates

I didn't think XP downloaded gfx drivers. :?

Do you get the little yellow shield in the taskbar, telling you it's downloading updates?

I get that, then click it and select Custom, which then lists what it is updating.

Nah, just kidding dude. Any idea what kind of GFX card you're running?

Right click 'My Computer', then select 'Properties'. Then click on the 'Hardware' tab, then click on the 'Device Manager' button.

Once the DM opens, there should be a 'Display Adapters' expandable icon. Expand it by clicking on the little '+' in a box to the left of it, and let us know what is listed under it.
