The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I've booked Tuesday off work to play it on my 360. 8)

Ordered it online, but Tesco.com seem rather tardy in sending it, as when I ordered it they said it'd be "delivered on launch day", but now they say they'll dispatch it on launch day, so I probably won't receive it until Thursday at the earliest.

So around midnight on Monday I'll be going to the local superstore and getting it, then giving the other copy to my nephew. :D

There's already people playing it. (probably pirate copies or games shop employees)

Here's a live streaming feed of one such lucky b*stard:

I'll get it when it's released on the PC so I can play it maxed out at 1920x1200x32 with no slowdown and near-instant load times and laugh at console owners... :D

It does look stupendously good fun, I can't wait!

No slowdown/bugs with a new PC game? That'll be a first. :D
I prefer to play it on a screen greater than my 19" LCD monitor.

Watching the live feed there doesn't seem to be many load times anyway. :)

Thankfully GTA games never really suffered badly from load times due to clever design. And to be honest, I can't remember the last time I had to patch a game due to bugs, I rarely bother these days.

The 32" TV usually works good for me, but it does limit the resolution to a rather weak 1080p... Roll on the 50" when it finally arrives! It'll still be stuck at 1080p though; it's a shame sizable monitors aren't cheap or easily available.

I may not have carpets, lightshades, more than five towels, a doormat or even painted walls in some rooms yet, but by (insert deity here) I wont let that stop me enjoying my hobbies!

:D

All that said, I did thoroughly enjoy playing the Wii round at a friend's flat the other day... Mario Kart for the proverbial win!

I make sure I sit close enough to get the full benefit of an HD screen:

I reckon you'll be able to get it off the shelf in your local Woolworths, Tesco, etc. on/after launch day with no problems. :)

I pre-ordered it ages ago, and I should get it on Tuesday (according to Amazon).

I've been waiting for this for years, and been following all the sites lately for news and info. There have been quite a few in-game clips released since Friday as people got hold of illegal copies, then yesterday a few shops sold it to people.

I've seen loads of reviews that are giving it 10/10, 5/5, 98/100 etc, so I'm sure I'll love it.

Vice City is probably my favourite one (I love the 80s), but I've really enjoyed them all since GTA III.

I've been finishing off other PS3 games and watching films, so I can spend as much time as possible playing it when it arrives.

I feel like I did when I was 12 waiting for Christmas day :D

You can notice the difference between I and P. Earlier today I was watching the extras on my Spider-Man 3 Blu-Ray disc, and the film was in 1080P (as all films are), but the extras were in 1080I. It looked like DVD quality compared to the film.

In the past I've heard that people usually prefer 720P to 1080I.

Playing games in 720P is very good though, as almost all games are in 720P. There are only about 20-30 that have been made in 1080P.

[edit]

This is what I'll be playing it on:

Here is a good review

It all depends how far you are from the screen.

I know people who have their HD TV over fifteen feet from where they sit, so they can't see any difference between SD or HD images, let alone between 1080i and 1080p. :)

Very true!

Here is a chart

I sit quite close to my 40" screen and have good eyesight up-close.
