The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Yeah, totally ridiculous to micromanage every single detail of a costume so you can appear "Dress Military" but look in the end like you could barely walk up 2 flights of stairs. That's dressy.

HAHAHAHA Well I was waiting for someone from Wales or ancestry to say something.
We English know what goes on in Wales stays in Wales & as for the Kiwi`s,well looks like the Sheep are getting their own back anyway (Black Sheep).

Seriously though I`m well aware SW Rebels tend to be clean, though not that often you saw Dirty Fleet troops & Leia only looked dirty to me when she was in either the trash compartment (Wet Top contest) & as a slave girl ;) Maybe not the same dirt we`ve been talking about though :D

Still to have a Pristine group of dressed Soldiers (Seen on screen as scruffy & dirty) & as said the micromanaged & the con you HAVE TO Buy from the CO for Official parts. Sounds very wrong.

Alas if there are those silly enough to fall for that & NOT do as you have done (gone your own way),well sad & they`ll always get that "WHo are they?".

Dom,
Wooooo Rahhhhh mate easily eat them for Breakfast though must admit I`m with Si,they don`t look tasty at all.

Jason

Make a "Warrior of the Wasteland" costume, add a couple of hi-tech gizmos or guns, add a brown coat, voila! Two costumes in one.

Ya'll know this type of organization just floors me.

Let's get all anal about the uniform. We want to look like a Combat unit from on of the biggest battles in the Gorram verse.
If they are going that far why not have a weight restriction as well, or maybe thats why the Gorram Purple Bellies walked all over then before the Battle of Serenity, guess someone needs to be Cannon Fodder.

Well, the Battle of Serenity did last a long time. So maybe, knowing what was to happen, they ate alot just so they could last off their body fat reserves. Or Maybe Mal and Zoe just sliced the bigger ones open and climbed in like a Tauntaun for warmth.

On one forum, when asked about the clean uniforms they responded:

"we want the "going off to war, at the beginning" look for the parades, not the "beat to hell-n-gone at serenity valley" look. some of us are working on more battle-worn kit for other times though. "

If the majority of Independants were the dirt poor downtrodden then how were they so clean to begin with?
