I know some of you are Serenity fans.....come on don't deny it.
Well as some of you know Cherie and I headed down to Arlington, TX Saturday night with some friends to watch the charity screening of Serenity.
Now, 'its a 2 year old movie.....why on earth would they be screening it now?' I hear you say
WELL!!!...
Every year around Joss Whedons birthday Browncoats all over the world organise charity screenings of Serenity in order to raise funds for Equality Now (a charity very close to Mr. Whedon's heart)
There were about 20-30 screenings all over the world over the last few weeks and to date they have raised over $60,000 (Dallas raised approximately $5600).
We had the pleasure of meeting one of the Bedlam Bards (responsible for a lot of the music from the show) as well as a Q&A with Joan Esponan who wrote for Firefly as well as for Buffy and currently for Battlestar Gallactica in their final season. Lots of useful info we found out to
As Cherie was there with
'SerenityCollectors.com' I was dragged along to film the event for the website. But I figured I'd share it with you all too.
Now bare in mind this was at a movie theatre so I could not take the camera into the theatre, but I got a lot of the events beforehand and the fans queuing up too.
But trust me, this video does not do the event justice.
It was a fantastic night and we all had a great time!!!
A SOLD OUT EVENT!!!
Our Experience - badly edited before they told me to turn the camera off.If you can make it to a 2008 event I really do recommend it.
All for a good cause too.
