Post subject:  HELP!: Reassembley of Maruszen M870

Hey folks,

I recently got hold of a Maruzen M870 and had it shipped to me in 3 packages with the aim to reassemble myself. Now I've got all the parts I'm having some difficulty getting some of the parts back together!

First off the trigger assembly won't seem to fit into the receiver too well! There's a small brass pin (circled in photo below) that is preventing the trigger assembly from getting into the receiver. I have managed to lever the receiver apart and force it in but the receiver then bulges outwards and the shell loading lever is really stiff. If I take the pin out I can get the assembly in but the shell loading lever doesn't work properly.

I've also got 3 little circular parts and a thin pin that I haven't got a clue about! There are also 2 U shaped parts which I assume are for the pump grip but I'm not sure how they attach and stay in place. Should there be some small nuts for them?

I'd really appreciate any help you can offer!

Thanks

Dan

Is there a recess in the body for the pin to drop in to, or does the pin need pushing in to the mech further?

I'd say trigger the mech so the hammer is 'up' and then push the pin in while jiggling the parts to see if it goes in further.

Found the pic online and it looks like the pin is more flush with the side face than yours.

You won't need the two u shape parts if your using this for a PR - the two circlips fit onto those to secure them. Not sure about the other bits.

Thanks SAS!

I have tried to get the pin further into the mechanism but it's in as far as possible. The pin has a head like a screw or bolt that is preventing it from going in further so where in your image the pin is flush with the mechanism, my one sticks out by about 3-4mm.

There's no recess within the receiver either to allow the pin to sit in there.

I may look at grinding off the head of the pin but still can't see why this would need to be done!

Possible the pin is in the wrong way round?

SAS you are one smart cookie! It now works perfectly!

Still don't know what that last little pin is for though!

I beliebe the last pin is the one that holds the brass (airsoft) barrel in the correct position. It goes in the metal body of the shotgun, somewhere in between the thingies protruding in the front, the pieces where you stick the outer barrel on.

This will keep the brass barrel from rotating and I believe has something to do with the hop up too.

Thanks Xhiwar!

I'm not using it as a functional airsoft 870 so don't think I need to worry about that bit too much then!
