The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Post subject: Airsoft Thompson needed - UK.

Hi all, i am asking for a BIG favour.

As i neglected to get my arse in order last year and get an airsoft Thompson before the October unpleasentness i find i am now unable to purchase one due to not being a skirmisher. I am wondering if anyone in the UK, who is a regular skirmisher, would entertain the idea of supplying me with one. Obviously all costs would be met. I do not airsoft at all and just, or did, collect for display. This will be used to make a Pulse Rifle.

If anyone can help me out please PM and if the MODS think this is a bit of a no no then no prob, please remove and let me know.

Just for info i am in the south east.

thanks

Jon

The Government has granted airsoft skirmishers a Specific Defence under Sect 36 of the Act. Please note the new offences are criminal and not civil and the penalties for contravening the Act are severe.

Between 6 months or 51 weeks in prison and/or a Level 5/6 fine.
Level 5 is £5000. The next level down is 2,500 so I guess Level six would be £10,000.

You dont say whether your over 18 or not. That would put on supplying to a minor as well. An additional 6 months with a further fine.

If you are not an skirmisher then you are asking us to break the law. I don't think with those penalties you'll get many takers.

Why not just try skirmishing..? You'll love it.

Sorry to sound like a harda$$. How I understand it is.. Trying to circumvent the law would make me an accessory..:)

Your never too old to go skirmishing.. Im 33..:)

On our airsoft site we have players your age... You dont have to run around like a lunatic, that's what the younger players are for..:)

PhilS does deact and milled parts. Buying parts is OK just assembling them into a Replica Imitation Firearm is illegal. Since your not building a realworld weapon you might be OK. This is a real grey area, until somebody gets prosecuted there no precidents which is why im erring on the side of caution..:)

Personally Id just go try some skirmishing. You never know, you might like it..:)

Alternatively if you dont need a firing one you could get a resin pulse rifle.

Spatcave.com or matsucorp.yuku.com both do extremely nice resin versions.
Get a light and sound kit in it, metal upgrades and It'll be amazing.

I have it all bar the thompson, Matsuo shrouds on there way, SD vent, front block and barrel support, real SPAS cage. Been looking at real steel like Stonedogs, so thats always an alternative.

Thanks for the advise though JediFraz, appreciate it.

Can't really add much to what Fraz said - You should try skirmishing though.
There's a 70 year old lady I know of plays... So you have no excuse!
