Hi. I'm looking for two different, futuristic looking Airsoft pistols for a couple of characters in the film trailer I'm making. One character is a scientist. I'm not sure why he would have the need for a pistol in general, but he has one, and I need not explain in a trailer. The other is a big, tough security guard with a 'standard-issue' type pistol, which I'd like to look heavier and nastier than the former to reflect this character. Could anyone help me out with futuristic looking Airsoft pistols? I think the style I'm looking for is Semi-automatic (fires as fast as you can pull the trigger till you need to replace the clip)?? [edit] It doesn't need to have this function, just needs to look like a semi-automatic...I'm probably making no sense here. [edit] They only need to be springers. Little explosive charges will be placed inside them to create the illusion of muzzle flash. So are you looking for suggestions from us as to which pistols to get? OR are you looking for suggestions from us as to where to get them? For the scientist I would say a P7M13. Any beefy gun would do for the other guy (a USP 8 for instance). Yeah- I'm fond of the HK family. ![]() This page may help with selection. I'm sure you can find a springer version of almost everything here: www.world.guns.ru/handguns Hope this helps Kevin The Sarge's Site Sarge's Pics "Marines I see as two breeds, Rottweilers or Dobermans, because Marines come in two varieties, big and mean, or skinny and mean. Yeah I’d probably need more info in the "Timeline" as far as future tech is concerned in order to come up with something. Is it present day, foreseeable future or a sort of way off else world kind of thing? Here’s how I'd go about making my choices though. I'd say your choices could be "Freudian" extensions of your characters psyche...if you will... Scientist= smart, functional and somewhat stylish. Guard= big bad and ugly..Heh heh...needlessly loud.. ![]() The scientist might have a smaller gun, unassuming yet quite effective. It might be futuristic looking with swoopy lines and no pointy bits sticking off it. Fits nicely in a lab coat pocket. The guard might have a utilitarian gun, a big gun perhaps too much gun for the job...which is fine with him.. ![]() Perhaps it’s starker looking with flat sides and sharp angles...more industrial looking. Perhaps a bit more on the story...I love brainstorming about these kinds of things. I think in screenplay format you know.. ![]() Matt Edited by: at: 12/28/03 11:56 am |

Deckard's Bladerunner pistol comes to mind. Or perhaps Robocop's gun. Or maybe even the gun Robo's was based off of. The Beretta m93R. images.google.com/images?...art=0&sa=N |

Bang on Matt, that's how I'm thinking. Cheers for the link Sarge, I'll look through it. I'll have a look round for the guns you suggested. Thanks TS826, I've thought about both of those- Deckards blaster is maybe a bit fancy, and Robocop's is a bit too recognisable if you know what I mean... That far into the future and they're still using projectile weapons...*sigh*...ok I'll get on it.. ![]() Heh Just kidding, I like projectiles better anyway.... You may need to get a couple of base guns and "dress them up" Like they did the lawgiver. Or the seburo series of guns. Guns in a shell...sorta like ghost in a shell only different. ![]() (another great anime with lots of guns)...(( and hottie cyborg girls too))... ![]() Matt |

Just had a look at those: Wow! I actually think they look too...good! I've chosen pistols for weapons so that they are hideously outmatched against aliens. They are chucked away pretty quick for some better gear ![]() Sarge- I've just realised the USP 8 and the SOCOM were already on my potential list. Just didn't know their names! I've gethered they used a USP 8 in Tomb Raider? I'm just wondering- the USP 8 and SOCOM look nearly identical don't they? apart from a barrel extension on the USP...is this right? These are my two primary options now. The other you mentioned is a little bit small and indestinctive. |

I believe theres a walther PPK/S under all that. PosideonMade it...check out the links. Those would be the guns I would lean towards style wise. BTW the SOCOM is much larger than the USP, side by side you can tell the difference but apart you cant really tell. Matt [img]http://www.drstranglove.com/upload/imgs/mtag1a.jpg] |

The Compact eXploder pistol pictured above uses a PPK/S as the firing component, but the main body of the gun is 90% (or more) hidden by the shell of the eXploder kit. The Tomb Raider pistols are the H&K USP Target Match pistol, basically another P8 variant. And I was going to suggest the Socom with LAM unit, but not the suppressor as a "big and beefy" handgun. Likewise, a standard Beretta 93R with a bolt on shorty suppressor or even just a piece of PVC pipe with a set screw to lock it in place, giving it a "heavy barrel" look. Quick, dirty, easy. I would definately go with the Mk23 SOCOM and LAM for the guard. Redwolf airsoft has a functional LAM (M-97) with working laser and flashlight for the SOCOM. I have one and it works great. The light's really bright too. Also, the Tokyo Marui Gas NBB SOCOM set comes with the phase two version (phase one, real steel speaking), which is more futuristic and it comes with a LAM replica (LED imitation laser and dull light, even in the dark). Unfortunately the M97 LAM and TM NBB set are both close to a hundred bucks, but well worth the money. ![]() I have the TM springer (high grade not hop-up), TM Gas NBB, and KSC GBB heavy weight hardkick versions of the MK23 SOCOM, and the M97 LAM. So if you have any questions about any of these, feel free to ask me about them. ![]() The SOCOM is about 2-3 times as big as a USP. When you hold both of them in your hands, and examine them thourghly, you'll notice that they are quite different, in size and looks (and with the real thing, calibur. USP .44 Mk23 .45). Both are quite futuristic. Some other futuristic pistols are the Walther P99 or Sig Sauer and Sig Pro series pistols. or you could just wait for that VP-70 to come out..... ------------------------------ M-40 grenade: $30 Pulse Rifle: $2000 Tactical Smart Missles: $10,000 Sulaco Full of Badass Colonial Marines: $700,000,000 Kicking some alien ass: Priceless |

Tokyo Marui makes two springer versions of the SOCOM, the high grade and the hop-up versions. They're usually $25-$30. You can find them on ebay all the time. I have the high grade version, and it's quite accurate. It's my favorite springer I that I have, out of my collection. ![]() ![]() ------------------------------ M-40 grenade: $30 Pulse Rifle: $2000 Tactical Smart Missles: $10,000 Sulaco Full of Badass Colonial Marines: $700,000,000 Kicking some alien ass: Priceless |

Thanks for your suggestions and replies guys. That Timecop gun was spot on, but a little pricey for what I wanted to do with it. I settled for Socom Hop-Up springer and Beretta springer Now, er, could someone point me in the direction of a decent holster for the SOCOM? ![]() |

For a holster, I would go with the Wolf Industries Mk23 thigh holster on Redwolf. It's a replica of the Wilcox holster. Also, check out www.mark23.com for other holsters that fit it (got a lot of info about the real steel too). The SOCOM is close to the size of a desert eagle, so finding a holster large enough for it is difficult. The magazine is quite large too. That holster can fit the gun, and magazines, (and a silencer) so problem solved. I've got one, and the only problem is it's quite heavy when just half loaded with a KSC SOCOM and an extra mag. The TM version, however, makes it quite light and no problem. I recommend www.redwolfairsoft.com for the holster (actually the makers and only other place to buy them other than ebay). I have dealt with them and they are very good. Any more questions about the airsoft SOCOM's, don't hesitate to ask me. ![]() ------------------------------ M-40 grenade: $30 Pulse Rifle: $2000 Tactical Smart Missles: $10,000 Sulaco Full of Badass Colonial Marines: $700,000,000 Kicking some alien ass: Priceless |

I checked again (I'm in Taipei) and they retail here for about US 15. Actually, in China there are stricter controls, so you wind up buying them at street stands and not permanent shops. I would have to reconfirm the pistol's prices. They may be harder to come bay because these are real looking. BUT -- I'm sure they are availble, and if so the price has to be that low as a 1:1 G36C is 5 bucks. BUT -- also remember that air shipment from will be many times the price of the AS gun. Also, we are talking about hand pull spring pistols and not gas ones, which I assume Lewis' is a spring power one. I doubt that in China -- I cna still find gas powered ones. Someone had imported them from HK, and got into big trouble for it. Cheers! It's cheaper and quicker to get airsoft from HK/Taiwan & China Ripper - although I've also bought from the US - It takes 5-7 days to get to the UK from the far east and 2 weeks plus from the US. Postage is also cheaper and obviously the weps are cheaper! |
